If I was in a car with Pau while she was driving, eating, and texting, I don't think I'd be nervous, as she seems to have multiple brains.

Stupid analogy. Never condone distracted driving, even in a ridiculous KZbin comment, besides she would need another set of eyes to go with the "multiple brains".🖖

Pau herself has said that this fill while singing was literally one of the hardest things she has ever had to master, and it took her hundreds of times to get it right. But, once she got it down, she says it has become second nature. LONG LIVE PAULINA VILLARREAL and her SISTERS aka THE WARNING!

I read that the action on Ale’s bass is pretty high, which would explain why those notes are so deep and clear. She has long fingers that must be ridiculously strong.

So many things done just right in this song and performance in particular. I think we've hung out enough with The Warning that you can call us friends, I think we could hang in real life... Oh, I was really hoping you would have pause on the shot of Pau from behind and talked a little about her setup in particular the bass mics over her floor toms and her laptop... There is and will be more from this show where you can comment on those things.

When we get into the structural details of each of their songs, we can realize that each of the musical creations, of these three beautiful, virtuous and talented creatures, are masterpieces. This is why every day I like them more... and it's too hard for me to decide a "Top 10" with their songs. In addition, it would be very unfair to leave several other melodies out of this Top. Thank you for this reaction!! Cheers

Having been in many different kinds of bands, I will tell you how they do it. Practice, Practice, Rehearse, Rehearse! After a while, their instrument playing s on autopilot., then the vocals too. Pau has said that when she thinks about what she is doing during a show is when she screws up or forgets lyrics. All three of them can play these songs in their sleep. If you ever see Ale during a sound check, she looks like she wants to sleep or kill someone, she is so bored. hahaha. While at the same time she is KILLING her basslines without a bit of effort. When you see them live, you understand how easy they make it look. That's why they can interact with the crowd so much. They don't have to think about playing or singing, it just happens.

Love your analyses! You know what it takes to do the complicated stuff and you help us appreciate it all the more when the artist makes it look easy. Everything Pau is able to do simultaneously requires a level of coordination that makes my head spin. Why do ALL their songs seem to end too soon? Is it because you can just never get enough? I'm always amazed at the growth in their live performances - they just flat out own that big stage - and they even manage to sound a touch better than on their truly well produced ERROR LP (yeah, I know they don't call 'em LP's anymore, I'm just that old). Who's my current favourite member of The Warning? Final answer is: that would be The Warning, Alex.

I have a theory about how The Warning have redefined rock music. Nowadays they seldom do lengthy guitar solos or drum fills that used to traditionally define a rock song in 70s, 80s, etc. "Less is more" is their motto. In brevity lies eternity. I bloody love it.
@oldmanyeni1663 Жыл бұрын
That Spector tone when Ale drops down to the B string (right when the opening wall hits you here, and in Sandman at the "Sleep with one eye open" part) is soooo good live. Hits you square in the chest. The tone is fantastic. They really have things dialed in live.

First time seeing a reaction from you and it's great. You break down all the little things the same way I do except in my world my wife just rolls her eyes. It's great to see the appreciation for the small stuff that non-musicians don't ever think about. I urge everyone out there to just try to play an instrument and sing at the same time just to feel how difficult it is. And yeah, I think Dany became my favorite after seeing these concert videos. Just incredible stage presence. Every move and facial expression perfectly coordinated without missing a note and while having so much fun.

@monicamansour3525 Жыл бұрын
About that low note on the bass at 5:59 that you talk about, I think it's due to the high action on Ale's bass. It allows her to pluck harder and still have a clean sound or even a sound more like "Clonck" instead of that "Prrrffrrff" sound. The high action on Ale's bass has been mentioned before and recently Don-Music talked about it on his video reaction to Choke and discussed on the comments by roy wall. Go watch it people, it's good.
