Ii love the intro and post-chorus hook in odd meter. When I first transcribed this song, I wrote it as alternating 4/4 and 3/4 measures since the quarter note stays constant. It could be written as 7/8 as well. Most reactors don't mention that at all. I love how easily the slip in and out of half-time. Often time it is not all of them simultaneously. Really adds texture to the composition for me. This song is soooo good live.

I'd love to hear them live, who knows, maybe the next time around the US!

I can see how 4/4 3/4 would work (Rush has done it that way enough times, haha! 😂). Personally, I think i feel and read 7/8 better. Ive learned it's just a preference thing, but 7/4, as some have tried to suggest, is just uneducated. That measure would take up a whole line of manuscript 🤣

She was gifted her first Spector by a fan (and then gifted a 5 string I think) and then got her custom 5 string "Ale's Inferno" delivered when they were recording this album.
@spaceknave6 күн бұрын
Yes, this isn’t her first Spector, but this one is her first 5 string, delivered by a Spector rep during the pandemic 2020 while recording the Error album. There is a video on their channel that shows it.

In the Enter Sandman when Ale was 9 she played a 3/4 sized bass. Then went to full size 4 string and became a Spectre artist. Then a 5 string a few years back. That's her model with Spectre.

Oh man do I love how you break TW songs down! Thank you! If you haven’t heard it yet, they recently did a version of Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” from SiriusXM Studios & it’s incredible! Could you do an analysis of that? Dany’s vocals & Ale’s bass are sooo good! I have a feeling your channel will be getting bigger & bigger! As far as Ale’s moves go, I’ve heard other reactors call her “Little Gene”, as in Simmons. 🤓 Thanks again! ⚡️🤘

You are of course correct! I have a bad habit of using interchangeably, they are NOT the same. I'm a huge RUSH fan, and it seems a full third of their songs (joking, sort of), have a 7/8 section, so hopefully you can see why I have "7/8" on the brain! ;-)

As some one already has stated in the comments, you deserve a sub! I usually don´t do this but don´t miss their first and second album "XXI´st century blood" and "Queen of the murder scene" (QOTMS). There are real gems in them and some of the songs they still do live today.

Subbing for more of this! Finally we can hear what they are actually doing. This was live. It was utterly flawless. People say that they can't hear Ale's backing vocals. That's because of the register that she sings most of the time. Her low harmony makes that very distinct 'Warning Sound' that we all know but find hard to understand. This is great! You'll possibly not enjoy the Keep me Fed songs quite as much as the production on the album is quite intrusive compared to Error. This is demonstrated by how much better most of the songs sound live. Hell You Call a Dream is actually quite horrible on the album, but majestic live. (Horrible as in compared to). Anyway, looking forward to hearing more from you soon.

The ages you listed are today, November 2024. They have been a working band for over 11 years now, an EP 4 original albums, and some singles. One of the best bands and shows I’ve seen, and it’s been hundreds since the mid 70s.

Ale started around end of 2011 on 3/4 size Fender Mustang PJ Bass and Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Bass, then in 2018 she was gifted 2 Spector Euro4LX Rachel Bolan's "Rebel" 4-string basses, by a fan, a black sparkly one and a white one, which she played until 2020, when she started playing around with wood finish Spector 5-string bass and she was then able to design her own Spector Alejandra Villarreal USA Signature 5 String Bass that she now uses for non-standard tunings and later on added her blue Spector NS-5XL for standard tunings. I may be wrong about this, but if I do remember correctly, she was the youngest ever to become part of the Spector family at the tender age of 13. Also since you are very knowledgeable about music, I would be really interested in you reacting to the 3 Gear Masters videos that they each did with the KZbin channel Digital Tour Bus, when they show their live rig rundown.

As someone else said I like the way you isolate different sections. I would very much appreciate if you reacted to Amour either from the Pepsi Center or Teatro Metropolitan live and isolated the vocals like you have in other reactions. For me, there is hands down some of the best vocal work and three part harmonies that I have ever heard The Warning do in that song and would be very curious to hear it isolated. Thanks if you do go ahead and react to that one.

If you’re going back, I’ll surely recommend you to hear Queen of the Murder Scene it’s a rock novel or a concept album that tell a story so therefore it should go in order and to read every prologue of each song in order to have e a better understanding where it’s leading… worthwhile, trust me on that one, oh and btw they said in vlog that this album they focused on key changes, so… Good luck with the rabbit hole!
@jonathanspahn73084 күн бұрын
I just need to say thank you for recognizing the instrumental riff as 7/8 rather than 7/4. I've had to content with a couple of wanna be musician trolls that insist on 7/4 just because the main song structure is 4/4. What many don't understand is that the denominator is simply a writing tool to denote count in a measure and has nothing to do with tempo. If it was written in 7/4, the measure would be a mile long and extremely convoluted and difficult to read. 7/8 fits best and is what Dani said it was written in, and is how I've seen it in downloaded manuscript. This was my favorite, and I still love to play it (bass) but I'm really loving Sharks right now 😅🤘⚡️
@davesheville20232 күн бұрын
The pulse of the downbeat doesn't change between the 4's and the 7's therefore it's 4/4 and 7/4. If it was 7/8 you'd be counting the 7's pulse twice as fast. Obviously time signatures don't set tempos, but once different signatures are in the same song it does matter.

Would love to know what software you are using this to break it up into stems.. had been reading on some of the various solutions available. None that i could afford in this lifetime.
@audiology4113 күн бұрын
Not expensive at all! To break out the audio stems, I use a web site called "LALAL.AI". I then mix them back together in Cakewalk (any DAW would work), and sync to the original video, and there you go! ;-)
