They have the gift of getting us English speakers to sing in Spanish, and the Spanish speakers to sing in English. Breaking down barriers wherever they go.

probably the COOLEST thing about this video was that The Warning played the song live at DOUBLE SPEED so that when played back in the slow motion their hands and faces (Dany's singing in particular) are on time... it's crazy how they got that effect!

Martirio is a masterpiece. From the very first moment when Dany strikes that first chord, I get chills. It's an anthem soon to be sung in stadiums to tens of thousands singing along. Absolutely beautiful. If any three people understand destiny, it's Dany, Pau and Ale. Another wonderful reaction Ashlena.

You used a word I have always used to describe this song…EPIC! There simply is no other word that can be used for it. I get chills every time I listen to Martirio, and I don’t even know Spanish! As time progresses I become more convinced that these young ladies WILL, without a doubt in my mind one day be recognized as not just one of, but THE GREATEST Power Trio of all time, eclipsing even the greatest power trios to date in Rush, Cream, The Police, Muse, Jimi Hendrix, Grand Funk Railroad. I know this is a bold statement, but I am absolutely 100% convinced of this! These young ladies souls seem to be timeless, drawing upon eons of wisdom. I see no reason not to believe that they will absolutely dominate the music world for as long as they choose to do so. Mark my words, they WILL sell out any venue they chose to play, including major arenas and stadiums, and they WILL be invited to not just participate in, but headline the largest major music festivals the world has to offer, playing in front of millions! LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!

Their team knows how to make the best of things. That torn house was supposed to be their shelter from the elements, but mother nature wanted to torture them and the wind destroyed it. So The Warning made use that torn house to add to their video. BTW the temp was around 45 Celsius according to Pau in a acoustic event they did in Canada in Montreal (I think).

Apparently when Dany started recording vocals for this song, they had been in New Jersey for a while, and Pau told Dany she was singing Spanish with an American accent. Dany then spent like 3 weeks walking around Jersey speaking only Spanish to herself so that she could kill the accent.

I loved this song from the first listen. About the recording of this video. They are out in the desert near Monterrey. It's windy as hell. The frame they had erected to protect them somewhat from the blowing sand had thin sheets stretched over it that the wind readily shredded, creating a neat effect for the video, but it was tricky for them, especially Pau, to play around. Also it was 45 degrees C (113 F) that day and there were also wasps they had to dodge. How miserable all this made them kinda fits the theme of the song as, of course, the sand got into everything, including their clothes, making it more than uncomfortable. And they shot this from the early morning hours into late evening. When they performed this song on October 11th in Buenos Aires, Argentina they used this song as their closer. I think they intended that as a nod to having debuted this song live there years ago before they had officially recorded it. The crowd loved it! It makes the perfect conclusion to the Error album (minus the bonus track).

the covering over the building frame was not supposed to be shredded but the winds had other ideas so DPA/TW and the team decided not to fight it... it makes for a nice atmosphere and works pretty well for this OMV... this is not the first time they've had to deal with the winds, either... one or two of their other MVs that were shot outside were also on windy days... their Foo Fighters cover of *The Pretender* comes to mind... there were also comments about how the blowing sand stung and caused them to feel like they had a sunburn... they did a great and professional job, that's for sure 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Epic everything, epic music, epic lyrics, epic video, epic woman. The cool part about the slow motion is that there playing is still in sync with the audio. That means they had to play at different tempo than the video at normal speed but still in time with each other. Time to check out some of the Dany Day midnight shows now. The MTV after show for Patreons was great btw if you didn't see it yet. hopefully it won't be too long till it's public for reactors to do.

I love this band! I have been watching the clips from their recent South American shows and I am so happy for them. They are killing those shows and the crowds are insane. The clips of Pau getting emotional behind her drum set because of the crowds enthusiasm are great. They live streamed the show in Argentina and while I missed the first half I watched the second half and it was great! The crowd was singing the guitar pars in some songs! It was nuts. ⚡

The outro to this song is right up there with Dull Knives and Survive for me, I love how anthemic it is and Dany kills it at the end! They went through hell making this music video, so we most likely won't see another one like it but it was a phenomenal one time thing. I went to Mexico City when I was in middle school and I hadn't learned some of the basics like "bienvenidos" until I got there either despite taking Spanish classes prior.

To me, it tells us that we create our own hell by our own negativity, it's so obvious, yet we don't see it. We always want somebody else to rescue us, when in reality it's only ourselves that can save us, so if u expect external help, u will wind up being let down. Learn from other's mistakes. If we are to live in fear, it is better to say goodbye to that kind of life, say goodbye to that life of sorrow 🎹🥁👍😃🙏🎉💯💥🔥⚠️⚠️⚠️🌏☀️💪🎯🥳🎸👏💜🌎☄️🇲🇽🇨🇦

Rock Band was what your thinking of. When it was her turn to pick up an instrument, her parents asked her what she liked. At 6 yrs old, Ale said that she thought about choosing the Harp before the Bass. As history shows, she chose well. She was also only 13-14 when she wrote the bass line for Martirio. Let that sink in 🤯 One other thing she says that other artists should take note of, and made me jump out of my chair in agreement..... Talent will only take you so far. Dedication and hard work will take you much farther. Obviously, she was told that, but she listened, and understood it. Telling you, these ladies was wiser, as children and harder working, then most adults are now.

Lastly, I don’t think I’m not going out on a limb by saying your reactions to TW are favorites for many in TWA. Your style is warm, intuitive, genuine, and super fan friendly and the fact that you’ve already been to a live performance along with the blessing of an Ale singing experience, gives you more “cred” with your critiques. Some like reactors that are heavy with technical breakdown and/or interrupt every 5 f’n seconds somthey chop up the song and miss out on the flavor of the song they’re reacting to. I think they overkill their “reactor” role. Another important thing that you do and I particularly appreciate is that you dig into the meaning of the songs not just comment of the sound, the notes, the chords, the performances. Sure those are all part of the greater whole but good or great songs are also defined by the message contained within it and not just fluff and flair. Please never stop what you do for what you do for TWA because it’s wanted and needed fuel for the energy generated by our Tres Hermanas.❤⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️

I think in French this song's title becomes "La Martirio." When this video was released, they put out some behind-the-scenes pictures, my favorite of which being Pau playing the drums and one of those white sheets covering her face. I will admit that when this one came out, I didn't feel as "connected" to it as I did the other videos from the Mayday EP. When I saw them live, this was the final song of the set and damn it hits so much harder by the end.

Dany has said that she was scared with all the wind of standing in the middle of the fire circle. The band admits it was a bit windy and the dust was getting into everything, their instruments, their hair, their clothes etc. I believe they said it took 14 hours to make the video. Pau has gotten very emotional at least a couple of times playing Martirio live in front of Spanish speaking crowds. The feedback from the audience must be overwhelming even though they have said they can’t really hear the crowd that well through their InEarz while playing. Dany has also had a couple vocal cracks during the higher belt at the end that might have something to do with emotion as well because I believe they were in front of Spanish speaking crowds as well. You’ll notice that some of the ripped fabric from their enclosure is tied up because Pau said that the wind was causing the fabric to either drape over her or hit her while playing apparently ruining some takes of those scenes. Martirio and Animosity are 2 songs where I enjoy watching the OMV every bit as much as a live performance. Martirio is definitely in my top 3 favorite TW songs and I don’t care one bit about the English translation.

Interesting enough each sister developed an interest in their instrument organically without being influenced by what their sisters chose. The same thing for Ale. She didn't choose the bass because of what Dany and Pau were doing. She just happened to fall in love with it. Then they were all learning and playing their instruments separately and then one day they noticed they had the set up for a band. That's how they became The Warning. It wasn't a conscious decision for each to learn a certain instrument in order to form a band. It happened organically. Wild, yeah?

The girls said in an interview that creating the song and filming the video were martyrdoms. Pau wrote an initial song but at the end they just kept the word martyrdom and filming the video was really hard. They said that writing music in spanish is a challenge, it seems like they are too perfectionist and it is never enough sound/lyrical-wise when writing their native language. And I understand them, I mean everything sounds awesome in english (well almost everything)🤔. I always remember Bicycle Race from Queen, if you translate that song to spanish, it sounds awful.

I do love this song, and this video is really good. But for me the live version from CDMX (I know you’ve seen it) is so far and away better; I’m wiping away tears every time. Love your reactions!

1:42 - "So far, all of their videos have been Sick" - FORESHADOWING :D Oh, and I have no idea what they're saying, but this is one of my favorite songs by them - it sounds sooo good (you summed it up well at the end).
