The Warning is a band that does write their own music. They are also smart enough to listen to others to learn other ways to do things. But strong enough to disregard the things that don’t work for them

Pau had to modify her kit to play this song. She added the instrument formerly known as the cowbell, though the song was recorded using a wood block. Formerly, because The Warning Army has renamed is as the "Pau-Bell". 🤣.

For something really different and earlier work, check out Black Holes - Live @ Dakota Bar. It's a song about alcohol addiction that Pau wrote when she was like... 13 years old. But it's so... impressive. It always makes me cry. How a 13 year old girl writes something like that, I dunno. It's really weird.

I got to see them opening for The Pretty Reckless and Halestorm in 2022, and I love that women are taking over hard rock. So much amazing music finally getting recognition now that the glass doors have been kicked in. This song and S!ck were their first real foray into working with outside writers on a trip to LA in like October-ish 2022. Both were recorded in Mexico in around March of 2023. The producer for Keep Me Fed, Anton Delost, has writing credits on both songs. They talked about it in the live stream for the debut of S!ck last month should you wish to go back and watch it.

More if part of their upcoming album "Keep Me Fed" due out June 28, 2024. This is the first time they have collaborated with others on an entire album. The are at the experimental stage with other producers and song writers. The previous three albums the ladies wrote the songs themselves.
@ronhall53957 ай бұрын
Not to disappoint anyone, but they are not going backwards. They are looking for new and different ways of putting songs together. Now the next album after the " keep me fed". Could be some sort of symphonic rock, or maybe a blend of death metal and Muse? They don't know, we don't know. They are not going backwards. So enjoy!

I know what you're saying. I'm a big metal fan. I like it HEAVY! But this band just gets me some how. I think,for me, it brings me back to my early days of rock. I used to listen to Ac/Dc, Aerosmith, Metallica, Pink Floyd, etc. and this band reminds me of those true rock bands.

They 100% write their own material. That being said, they’ve had some songwriting sessions with other artists lately, which is healthy, but they retain 100% final say on their music. (They negotiated mighty hard to get this, it bears mentioning). They are prolific writers and at one point Pau said she has 500 song fragments and ideas on her phone. Which makes me wonder if some of the songwriting sessions weren’t as much for the benefit of the other artists.

TWA will inform you of the post reaction from the producer but he was so clueless to the band he asked Dany "what song are you going to play?" Dany replied "More." He says I know your wanna play more but what's the name of the song?

This was the second song with co-writers. They spent a week in LA writing with new people every day. They are really funny talking about it. MORE came out of those writing sessions. Their first collab was with Alessia Cara when they rewrote Enter Sandman for the Blacklist album (track 1).

when DPA/TW play *MORE* live, it hits harder and has a rougher, grungier sound than the studio version in the OMV... the OMV is a fun video with DPA/TW playing and dancing around on a set that has a huge number of hidden Easter Eggs that long time followers will spot easily... for me, that brings back some memories of the fun videos we used to see on MTV back when it actually was "music videos all the time"... yes, i saw MTV's first broadcast when they officially came on the air 😹 i'm quite proud and happy for DPA/TW for making these milestone appearances at two MTV functions, the MIAW in CDMX (back in Aug 2023) and the VMAs in NY&NJ (Extended Stage) (in Sep 2023)... three additional milestones are 1) they are the first Mexican band to perform at the VMAs, 2) they were invited to perform, 3) they were not nominated for anything... those speak volumes in a great and huge way! now add to that they have been doing this for 10 years... most of that was while independent... i would also be remiss if i didn't mention that this performance was real unlike the other groups that also performed here... DPA/TW did both of their songs fully live and in one take each while the other performers lip synced and took all three allowed takes... the ""best"" of those takes was selected for airplay... DPA/TW were also the only ones to be announced on the main stage when it was time to present their performances... Pau has also stated that playing here on this stage was a very _surreal moment_ ... she said the stage was very much like the stage in the game Rock Band... i can easily see that they might have felt as if they had been transported into the game... i'm sure they imagined similar when they were playing the game as children and just beginning to find their path in life pre-2012 or so... they have been playing for about 16 years which includes while they were learning and starting to become proficient at their art and individual instruments... they celebrated their 10th Anniversary as a band in Aug 2023... they have certainly worked long and hard on their art... to think that this all started because of the game Rock Band 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Nice reaction, sir! Gotta love these amazing rockers. Alé's bass work on this song does not get enough love. The subtle slides during the verse really add to the song. And those rubbery "chainsaws in velvet" slides during the chorus are her too (I think). Yeah. These girls are indeed legit. You have a new subscriber!

They do write there own songs but have collaborated with others since being signed with Lava records 3 years ago. Record labels want their investments to pay off so all influences are welcome. It did take 7 months to negotiate a deal, I`m sure the ladies have the final say, it is their band right ?

Love everything they do. I do like this song live better than the studio version. You are right they are legit. Im 57 and though I have liked a lot of bands over 40 years, this is the first band I have been addicted to in 20 years. Most people dont really notice, but it makes a huge difference listening, when Pau changes time signatures. It's usually very subtle, but WOW. They drop into 3/4 towards the end. Not sure but it seemed like it slipped into 7/8 to finish.

Here's the thing for me... some songs might have elements which are more "poppie" than others.. but either way they still rock it out. Just means they have range and will keep things interesting.
