The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! You'll have to check that one out next...

They did a great version of this exclusive to their patreon when the celebrated one year on patreon in March 2019. Pau played drums and sang lead because Dany was playing bass and Ale playing the lead guitar. They still nailed it 😀

I joined Patreon in February 2019 a week before the anniversary show. When Dany and Ale switched intruments for Runaway I couldn't stop smiling.

The sound of this show at Dakota Bar is amazing. All instruments sound perfect, but I especially rescue Daniela's voice and guitar. That guitar sounds so good!.. Dany uses Palm Muting technique a lot, which is (i.m.o.) Metallica's influence.

The girls are still finding their way as to their own sound when this album was recorded. Not bad for a first time effort. You can hear the geneses of their sound even then. And Thunder Girl Ales backing vocals are very pronounced as is her bass.

Great journey Steve! At first listen, "Runaway" seems like just a great "rock" tune, but check out the lyrics; e.g., "Don't worry about the other suicidal lovers, Psychopathic blood that spills". and "Run, run, run away run away child, From who you were to who you are". More XXI Century generational angst, courtesy the (very deep) Villarreal sisters...

Any song done in The Warning cave AKA there basement, some are acoustic and they sound great. And the one person I just can't seam to hear is Ale, I struggle to hear here or her bass. It could just be me.

Have you tried using a decent set of headphones? Or a surround sound speaker set up? I find bass and other effects get lost on phone and laptop speakers. And it's not just The Warning. Pentatonix and Band-Maid are a way different experience with headphones.

Steve, I know that you have already reacted to Survive, but you may want to take a look at this one just for fun. October, 2017 The Warning opened for Def Leppard at CD/MX arena in Mexico City. As Pau tells the story, Def Leppard's manager saw how young they were (Ale was only 12) and thought they were just going to pretend to play to a backing track and dance around. By the time they finished Def Leppard was so impressed that they invited them on to their Guadalajara show, where they came out on stage to watch them and took some pictures with them after the show.
