Was the entire show mixed this heavy or was it just Sharks? Ale and Dany either tuned waay down or used an octive divider. Not enough of a musician to know which.
@Ozzman422Ай бұрын
@@scottwheeler2494 It was a festival type show and everyone had a very loud set with a huge amount of bass. The space between the stage and rail was all speakers. I’ve never been to a show like that
@scottwheeler2494Ай бұрын
@@Ozzman422 actually that's a fairly common setup. You fly most sound in the line array for the crowd. But you stack subwoofers at the front of the stage for two reasons. (You also put a few mid and upper frequency boxes on top). One it provides for sound for folks on the dancefloor out front. Two, you use the stage like a tunnel to help load the bass. You stack the cabs three high two facing out and one facing in under the stage. Typically each cab has 4 18 inch drivers connected to two 4k watt amps. In the old days you used Crown or Crest amp. In the really old days you used Phase Linear amps. In the mid 80s for a U2 show for example you would build a stack of 32 cabs per side. Stacking them improved the loading and could increase the level by 6 dB which is alot in this setting. Sound engineering as a science has really grown since my old rock days. It's all computerized. Back then it was guess work and black art. But it was a lot of fun. I loved the shows that pounded your insides. Remember a show that during sound check I could feel the hairs on my legs waving. It was 121 dB on the meter. You could never use that today, they would put you in jail. But they are capable of it.

and yes they tune down - spat my beer when i first heard the live version and the wacken 24 if you can find it..............

@@davidpinnington213 I was wearing over the ear headphones my first exposure. I quickly moved to my living room and started up the stereo and TV. The stereo features stereo subwoofers, one on each side sorta. With 4 large drivers and 3.6k watts of amplifiers it can move some air. Somewhat a sub freak. Live show sound is addictive and expensive. Oh well. We all need a vice and I cleaned up years ago from more addictive ones. So my brother and I have spent money on tunes. Used to collect mixing desk recordings from all kinds of genres so I love a properly recorded show. Looking for clean copy of Wacken but it will show up. It's too good not to.
