Written by 15 year old Dany at Berklee music college. This song is all her, even when played full band, only Dany sings, no backing vocals from Ale or Pau.

It is moments like this, and yes Pau singing Breath, that make me even more certain that over time, these young ladies known as The Warning, will absolutely be universally recognized as the greatest power trio of all time. They are young and have decades ahead of them, their legacy is being created right now. Having discovered them in June of 2015, I feel so very honored to have supported them from very nearly their beginning. The world truly is a better place because of them. LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS! (Truly a gift to the world from God)

*When I'm Alone* *When I'm Alone* is Dany's song... Dany wrote this when the girls were at Berklee College of Music (aka BCoM) in Boston back in 2015 attending the summer session they offer(ed)... she got very homesick and also had a homework task to write a song... she hadn't any ideas, time was running out, and being homesick was devastating... she recorded a teary vlog about it... afterward she realized she could harness the emotions and pain she was feeling to write her song... i haven't heard what grade she got for it but many of us hope it was an A+... Dany has also stated several times that when she writes a song, it is from her heart and whatever emotions she is feeling at the time... so here we are enjoying this truly heartfelt song of loneliness and heartache... speaking of Berklee College of Music, their concert at "Liceo" (basically Spanish for "learning place" or "high school") had multiple purposes... for one purpose, the story is that they needed something to submit to Berklee showing Ale's and Pau's chops and how well they played their instruments... this because both of them were less than 15 years old which is/was the age cut off for the summer program they were wanting to attend... so each of them chose a song to show off their talents... IIRC, those songs were "Hysteria" for Ale, "Everlong" for Pau, and "Crazy Train" for Dany... apparently BCoM accepted their submissions because all three girls attended at the same time... while they were there they did vlogs to send to Ellen DeGeneres to keep her and her show up to date on how they were doing while at BCoM... this because Ellen and Target gave each of the girls a check to help pay for them to attend the summer session at BCoM... Here's what Dany said about this song at a storytelling concert in 2018 (translated from Spanish) "With your permission, I'm going to sit down to tell you a little more about this next song. Well, this next song is very, very, very special for me because, to be honest, I struggled a bit more when I first started as a composer. I remember being in Boston-we were studying at Berklee College of Music-and we had a composition class. It was a group class where each of us had to bring a composition. We would analyze it and see what could be improved. We had the task of writing a song. I remember that one day before class, I still had absolutely nothing. I was thinking, 'What am I going to do?' It wasn't because I was lazy or had forgotten the assignment-I just hadn't found inspiration for a song. In that moment of despair, I missed my home and my friends a lot because we had been away for a long time. I also felt like nobody understood that I didn't work the same way as others when it came to composing. That's when this song, *When I'm Alone*, was born."

And she was sick as well. I think the pressure she felt was because she is the eldest while Pau and Ale took a lot of attention because of their skills at such young age. Dany nowadays is the front of what we know about The Warning: passion, energy, connection, emotion, give it all. Pau is like the brain of the band and Ale kinda like the heart, you feel her very rhythmically. But then Dany, she is definitely the soul of The Warning, the automatic sun 😊.

You need to watch some of her Midnight Concerts, when she just sits in the CAVE, all alone, with her acoustic guitar, and plays songs she loves. Usually one or two songs, sung at midnight. She and her sisters share a bedroom, so the concerts are short, because they won't sleep until she goes to bed.

The guitar is a Fender Acoustisonic. The performance of this song during the show in their hometown of Monterrey, 3 days earlier, is even more emotional and there are good fan made videos of it.

Dany is the voice of 21st Century rock no question but these girl & her guitar moments are the true magic of Daniella Villarreal. Just like Paulina on the piano, Dany with an acoustic guitar (or hell, just a capella) is 100% pure heart & soul. You can tell it’s all about the lyrics, all about the message delivered thru the music. As real as real gets.
@tay136662 ай бұрын
You mentioning a capella just reminded me of her rendition of Martirio. So great, and so funny.

I recommend listening to this song from the Teatro Metropolitan concert as well. Dany starts by singing the first verse solo, and then Pau and Ale join in to give you a wonderful rock song with an amazing solo by Dany where she talked to the audience during this acoustic performance. If you want a two-fer, you can also listen to the performance of this song at their TedX concert or the Dakota Bar where the song is sung as a full rock song from start to finish. All of these performances are on The Warning's KZbin channel.

Apparently you've subconsciously become one of my favorite reactors. I realized the last couple times you've posted, I've been like, "DANG! Took him long enough to circle back to The Warning! It's been like.... oh... a week...🤐". LOL! OK - another great reaction - Let me ask you this... Take your last six reactions to The Warning as an example - pretty much at random, aside from wanting to do Enter Sandman together... When was the last time you could pick 6 songs from any band at random and get hit with the range of emotions and feelings that these girls somehow deliver... Excitement, head banging, a little proud of them, amazement, choking back tears. I don't know of any. You're a reactor so maybe you've hit on a couple that do it, but these girls are definitely next level.
