Highest paid guys have to shine. I really like them both but winning requires moving on. I respect great players like Allen and Payne wanting to be paid, but this is a business and I’m not sure they’re still worth it.

Commanders need better edge rushers. When Sweat, Young ,Payne and Allen was wrecking things, teams couldn't double team our DTs bc they had to worry about Sweat and Young. The problem is that teams don't fear our DEs and they single block them and double our DTs. After getting doubled for four quarters, hell any man would get tired especially 300lb men with their hand in the dirt the majority of the game.

Before the team played their first game on paper I saw that this team was to me a 10-11 win season but I forgot to add the team on paper never played as a unit. You don’t put the right ingredients on top of the batter and just cook you have to stirr the season in so to have good mix the team is now know each other playing style and now they are jelling more every game getting better. Now what’s on paper is coming to reality.

It's the exact opposite, we dont get pressure on the QB so, like Penix and Tre Lance, they get forever to scan the field and find guys working open. Agreed, the secondary is a big weakness that's definitely not hepled by a lackluster paaa rush.

If both are willing to reconstruct their deals, I would keep them. You still need some leadership on the team, and both are leaders for this team (it also os encouraging when some leaders are people the organization drafted). I also believe both would play better in a 3-4 defense as a DE. We could get a nose tackle in the draft.

It's not going to be a problem for much longer. The entire football world now knows the Skins D-Line of the last 5 or 6 years is... the most over-rated unit in (possibly) football history. LOL It was never that good. Good players. But as a unit, our D-Line was never very good. It was all good marketing. LOL But really... it's not a problem. Allen won't be here next year anyway. And Payne... he might have a year. IMO, Payne has performed better than Allen. Still not great. I wouldn't be surprised... if both were gone.
