The waterless toilet

This Clesana waterless toilet is designed for use in RVs, although I suppose it could have a lot of other applications such as in shacks and sheds not connected to the sewage and where putting in a sceptic tank is too much trouble or too expensive. The waterless toilet replaces water with plastic bags and we can see how they work in this demonstration. The waterless toilet is not a cheap option, as far as RVs are concerned, the use of a cassette toilet is much more economical to install although the waterless toilet is much cheaper to buy and to run than an incinerator toilet.

I swear I have a masters degree in poop and pee disposal. I must have, I have been researching this for ages. There is something very similar to this on the market already, but you have to change the whole cassette when it’s full, not just the bags. Also, it twists the bags shut rather than chopping them up. It’s a bit like a nappy disposal system. It works out very expensive to use. The current system of emptying waste that’s mixed with chemicals isn’t great either. I still think getting one of the 2 available incinerator toilets is key, but the initial outlay is super expensive at about £4000 for the toilet. Ongoing costs aren’t bad, especially if you choose gas operation and have an underslung tank. The best one I’ve seen is the Cinderella toilet. One of their models is made for travel. I spent decades nursing, ran a children’s nursery and have had 3 children myself. I’ve been up to my elbows in poop more times than I care to count. My days of dealing with waste are over. If I can find a way to get an incinerator toilet in my van, I will. Out of interest, what are the manufacturer details for the one you have just shown?

incinerators are good but they have flaws as well. like having a exhaust outlet. Also ive seen videos of someone having to do repairs or maintenance on a incinerator toilet and it doesnt seem very simple.

There you go Gill. As for me, I don't like the Cinderella system, gas consumption must be very high and lets face it, finding a dump is not all that difficult.

Really like the idea. Better than a Laveo, because you can dispose of bags with each use. With Laveo, at $1.50 per flush, and 17 flushes per insert, you might not use it for a while, park your van or trailer for a month or two, come back, and . . . I don't want to think about it. Plastic waste is no good, of course, but that seems its only drawback besides the price. I like the holding area for the bags. Also the size of the plastic waste seems smaller than many. It seems like you can really forget about all the work of cleaning up after yourself. Can this be bought in the US?

Me too. I am a big fan of laveo toilets but I think this one is better. It's a bit slower but less expensive I think. I also love how the waste automatically seals in shut in the bags.

I was hoping already for some alternative for the laveo dry flush. ±25$ for ''up to 15 flushes'' (which I read as, with normal use u get 10 flushes). This thing will be about 10x cheaper per flush.

We use a £4.99 plastic bucket and 40lt bin liner bags. Best for solid use only... A clothes detergent bottle with handle takes care of liquid... a funnel helps direct the wife 🤪

I used to run a magazine on the packaging industry and was once considered by some to be a bit of an expert on this industry. i don't think biodegradable would work very well, although I absolutely accept your point.

also u could probably make each bag last longer by sealing only when u poop but for pee u can just add in maybe cat litter and it will be good

It would be VERY helpful to give us a video with the best, most inexpensive waterless toilets that make biodegradable emptying that would work in situations like the collapse of civilization in these unstable times, so as many people as possible can live well and preserve our beautiful civilization.
