From seeing the video it is clear that both up and down and sideways movement of the float are used to activate a rack and pinion. The rotary motion obtained is used to produce electrical power by suitable generators. Kudos to the thought that went into this project. However the ocean's wave power is quite enormous and punishing on the fabricated equipment. What thoughts have been made to keep the equipment in good working order?

can it be made 3 dimensional ? I took notice of the rotation of the horizontal mechanism during the sea test(mostly because at a small scale there is a lot of noise in the undesired direction), which could be converted to electricity as well
