Holy cow, this video did better than expected...
Welcome to The Katy, a very influential railroad in the south and southwest. Up until the merger with the Union Pacific in 1986, they existed by themselves with a large system covering many states, and two subsidiary lines. At the merger, they operated 2,623 miles of road and 3,765 miles of track.

Now THIS is why I keep coming back to your channel. Your MKT video is fantastic. What a ride! I love the mix of power and color the Katy ran in the mid 70's. They ran the F7A's and B's about as long as any other road, maybe with the exception of the Rock Island. Love the great way you presented opposing trains on double track mainlines. I'm going to have to watch this one a few more times to fully appreciate the detail work you put into this one. Keep the great work going!

What a great selection in head-end power mix and colors. So glad you included the caboose, which makes each of these trains.

The cabooses you run on your trains really makes the realism.

Splendid work on the Katy video. This reminds me so much of the 8mm film I've gone through in selecting and editing the Katy clips on my channel. Wonderful. Thank you.

Adding a Katy caboose. What a nice touch and ads so much to the entire experience.

I'd absolutely love to see the Missouri Kansas Texas railroad in the 1940s and 1950s recreated in trainz

As far as I know there’s very little to no MKT steam anywhere. It would be an awesome video though!

Now THIS is how i remembered the Katy! MKT had always been one of my favorite railroads (Until f**ing UP came along and ruined it all!), thanks for uploading and sharing this awesome video! :)

This was fascinating to watch! Thanks so much for including some rather obscure roads and their very rare to see rolling stock from other parts of the country! Would love to see you do regional railroads from other parts of the country over the same time period, say the Boston and Maine from the NE, the Florida East Coast from the SE (and the elusive FEC blue boxcars), perhaps Louisville & Nashville or Seaboard Coast Line from the South, then the Northern Pacific or Great Northern from the NW. Just curious, did the simulated horn sounds truly orginate from MKT locomotives? Thanks again for posting!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! The horn sounds likely didn’t originate from real MKT locos, but they do sound very accurate to the prototype. As for regional railroads, I’ve got a ton of plans, and no content to back them up! GN, Seaboard, D&H and L&N are on my list. FEC is a definite possibility, I just need more content. Thanks for watching!
