Ppl always miss how important jungkook and the fact that he looked up to namjoon so much from the jump really changed joons life and perspective. He saw his life as having no purpose or direction. Everyone else he was working with before jungkook got there were all hyungs to him… he was the youngest member until jk got there lol he was the first person who came in looking up to him and namjoon said jungkook trusted him as a leader since day one and that his life was saved a few times. One time was his dad making sure he went back to Seoul when he tried to quit before they debuted…. And the second thing ti save his life was jungkook joining the company. Jungkook gave him someone to have to be the best role model for…. Joon said he was selfish before jk got there… and again he was the youngest person there… still finding his voice as a leader… but jk came in looking up to him without knowing him… and it gave joon purpose… and that’s so incredibly special. Namjoon has always had such a soft spot for jungkook and he looks out for him in such a special way that gets overlooked to push jk being a fanboy story … which is stupid bc that cheapens their bond. Jungkook looks up to joon as a role model and someone to follow when it comes to career and music especially… but he’s not a fanboy… or how you want to twist something that’s a beautiful mutual friendship into something as simple and cheap as that

One of my favorite Namkook moments is from the 2019 Winter Package. Jungkook had a mini breakdown when reading his card to ARMY and all the members consoled him. Namjoon, in his video diary later, says something like "he could tell JK was having a rough time" and then says to the camera that he will always have a hug ready for Jungkook. He pretty much spends the rest of Winter Package shoot with JK, as though he's making sure JK is fine. Anyway, I haven't seen this clip, especially compared with others of the two of them from that same Winter Package, in many Namkook videos, but it's a heartwarming reminder of how attuned RM is to the stress his members are under.

Oh…I love the way RM has taken care of JK from teaching him to be successful and how to be a good man. I know all the members have done that for JK, but RM took it to another level. Because the fact that JK opened up to him about something as closely guarded as His own worries and he confided in just RM about that is profound. Meaning that he trusted him with that part of himself, his weakness and vulnerability, to not embarrass or tease him about it. That says a lot about their relationship and it says a lot about RM. 💜 The way Rm treats JK is so entirely cute and he seems to make the effort to step out of his own comfort zone to show affection and love to JK. You can watch the inner conflict in RM when he see’s JK upset. He goes to hug him, hesitates because he’s unsure, then one arm hugs him, hesitated again, then finally steps in to fully embrace him. Also guys I know rm said when he saw jk for the first time... he was in his underwear lol but jungkook saw rm first in a video.... so it’s not that weird or random . Also I love how jk says “RM,” lol it’s so cute!!! I also love jimmy fallons interaction with jungkook... he asked him about rm and placed his hand on jks shoulder in a comforting way... almost bc he could see jk slightly struggle to get his thoughts out.. which was so cute!!!!
