As the next is getting some nice titles, detection of the machine and a popup when launched saying 'restart at 60hz' perhaps should be a Canon for titles going forwards if it is essential.

It's a choice. Not all games can run at 60 so yes I agree, a popup or restriction built into the game is needed. 50htz has never been an issue and even states on the test card that 50htz is recommended for better compatibility. 60htz was always a NTSC and Japanese game thing back in the day.

Great and honest review, I must admit I have same issue with the intro music and get same flicker on the feet (though I had not noticed until now), I’m glad you had some thing with the hit detection. I’m sure they will improve that said love the game, great visuals and AY .. got my 2 button joystick (homemade) which works well and both buttons work as expected. Look forward to more Next game reviews

I'm with you on the nitpicky thingies. Probably the original has a better feel to it. But hope to tackle this reworked awesomeness on my next soon too. Maybe just needs a bit of personal preference adjusting. who knows. let's try and see!

@@BAPSTARCADE the distorted initial music (but nice AY Music). And the iffy hit boxes with no satisfying sound effects as you connect! That's so important in a fighting game. Graphics were amazing and this is my kinda game so I want it to be as good as possible. Maybe some tweaks from the guys when they have time. It would very much be appreciated.

TBH should be native at 50htz, i don't fancy changing the frequency every time i want to play 1 game. it's a miss for me.

Legacy games yes, but with the next and the fact that HDMI can handle 60htz then depending on how the games programmed can use 60htz. 50htz is obviously recommended for the majority. It's an evolving machine..
