It's a shame how their mother was reprimanded for appearing on stage with her beloved daughters. In my eyes that was wrong of the Church of God in Christ.

Yes, and just why?? Cause of their self righteous attitudes. We are supposed to be in this world but not of it and I really don't believe she did anything wrong. Sometimes our own so called "Christian brothers and sisters" can be the same one's to kill a person's spirit and livelihood, smh...she was never the same after that..😔😔😔😔

@@chelllockhart9404 You're darn right she groomed her daughters and made them into the singers that they are now. I just wish they could all come back together with Denise put the past in the past cut one more record so we can hear them all on it and then do whatever oh, I don't think their mother would want them to be acting like that.

That's what I'm saying they said she had to be called in by the fishes of the church and said she wasn't allowed to perform with her daughters anymore and I can understand that because my whole thing is like they weren't doing nothing wrong she didn't do nothing wrong all she did was performed with them they were covered from the neck down they had a long dresses they expressed what every Church does on Sunday on the national stage and they got unnecessary slack for it and their mom got in unnecessary trouble with the officials of the church for no reason

@Jermeah
@Jermeah 4 жыл бұрын
@@Edward_Strong1982 She wasn't dismissed, she had gotten pregnant and because of it chose to not go on the road take care of her child full time. Also, she had decided to stay behind to help her husband run they're church. I know this because 10 years ago, when I was in college, I did a slide show presentation on the clark sisters. It was rumored she had died and I thought that until I found through my research it was not so.

According to Denise, the other sisters have done her wrong and treated her horribly! The other sisters may have said that she is more than welcome to come back but they are saying that to put on a show for the people. Based upon what Denise has said, I interpreted it as the sisters don't want Denise to come back and be a part of the group. Twinkie is the only sister that really wants Denise there! I absolutely LOVE this clip! It brings back so many memories, especially with Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, James Cleveland, Andre Crouch, Jester Hairston, and.the fabulous Clark Sisters. My God, Karen was absolutely fearless! The Grammy audience didn't even know what hit them. THE GOSPEL! This was such a glorious night for the Clark Sisters but especially Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. She looked so radiant and happy to be performing with her daughters. It was the night for all of them to be celebrated! After seeing what Dr. Clark endured as told in the movie, The Clark Sisters:First Ladies of Gospel, my heart became even more endeared to Dr. Clark. She stood up for herself and, by herself for all women after this performance. What a blessed, strong, amazing, annointed, and appointed woman she was, who had to blaze a trail to be ALL that God created her to be in her time.

@fiercejarret Upon seeing Dr clark perform with her daughters during this television broadcast, MANY of the HYPER conservative COGIC church executives at that time saw it as an unfit act for an iconic woman of her stature in the COGIC church to sing at such a secular event. Mattie went because she saw it as spreading the word to the masses. Her defense during the meeting was that "the lord directs his people to go ye out into the land and spread the word" Which is clearly what THEY were doing..

"...Go into ALL the WORLD and PREACH the Gospel to EVERY creature..." Mark 16:15 NKJV Everybody is not coming to the church building or meeting place. Sometimes you have to take the Gospel to where the people are in order to give them an opportunity to make a decision regarding Jesus Christ! What an opportunity God provided for The Clark Sisters and Dr. Clark to represent Him! God can open a door that no man can shut! (He can also shut a door that no man can open!) Can you imagine the stories that might be told in Heaven about the lives that were changed because The Clark and Dr. Clark dared to take the message of Jesus Christ to the Grammy's?

Also consider the times were slowly progressing and I remember one year om the Grammys which is an awards show, a black choir started speaking in tongues dancing running all over the stage shouting. It made people uncomfortable because they felt it was a time and place for everything and then wasn't the time. Some people in the audience were shouting leaning over on strangers high in the spirit and THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW PULLED. A MEETING WAS CALLED AND THEY SEPARATED THE GOSPEL PART OF THE GRAMMYS TO THE DAY TIME , AND YOU HEARD BY MOUTH WHO WON A GRAMMY IN GOSPEL. THE SECULAR ARTIST WERE SHOWN ON TV AT NIGHT RECEIVING THEIR AWARDS.
