Companies pushing DEI like Harley Davidson, Ford, Target, Bud Lite, Tractor Supply and Disney lost top employees and many customers pushing the weird agenda. Disney alone lost $22 billion in 5 years. When you put race over qualifications, you lose. And that's also how Dems lost the election. They don't say "go woke, go broke" for nothing.

I live close to a Meijer store. The quality of the items are very good, the customer service is excellent, and the workers are of all ages, colors and creeds including some with disabilities. I feel welcomed and a valuable customer at Meijer. I have been to other Meijer stores with the same sense of acceptance and service. They know who their customers are.

DEI should still be a goal. Studies show that more diverse companies tend to have better results. Please note: A goal does not equal THE goal. This is not a zero-sum game. TEND does not mean will. Your mileage may vary. Thirty years ago, I tried to hire an indigenous person for a new position, aware that this demographic group was disadvantaged in my city. One candidate had some of the skills but was missing several. In a larger organization, we could have worked with that person. As a small company, we did not have the luxury to train them over time. We hired a person of a different ethnicity who was a great hire. The fear is that a totally unqualified person will be hired solely to be inclusive. Are there examples? My experience is that we can all walk and chew gum at the same time while crossing the street. Among the top candidates, there is rarely a significant difference, so why not give a few bonus points for diversity?
