Playing the character of Hong Hae Joo wasn’t easy. Actress Chae Soobin shared that she began learning sign language two months before filming started and continued without breaks until the very last day.
She also revealed that sign language for interpreting news is very different from everyday speech. On top of that, Soobin had to learn both Korean and American sign languages, as seen in the birthday party scene in Episode 1.
Fans were deeply impressed by Soobin’s dedication. Even Yoo Yeon Seok couldn’t help but praise her sign language skills during Na PD’s live show, sounding exactly like a proud husband bragging about his wife.
The funny part is, Soobin accidentally cursed in sign language during a live broadcast. But her instinctive reaction to look at Yeon Seok for help, and his immediate reassurance and explanation, felt so married couple-coded.
