What a neat story. Very cool. And what a scene. Wow.

Just a short remark: The mountains you shot are actually not Torres del Paine but The Cuernos del Paine. The Torres are the 3 spires behind them. You can spot 2 of them in middle of this picture I took 10 years ago (with slightly better weather): www.aconcagua.de/wp-content/gallery/patagonien-ii/DSC_0458.JPG And here are the Torres in full display: www.aconcagua.de/patagonien-torres-del-paine-nationalpark/ Apart from that: Nice video, as usual.

I'm heading to Iceland in a month for only 4 days - this is my fear, that the weather will not cooperate for the entirety of my short stay. Nice to see you guys were able to pull it out on the last day.

I bought a Google Home Hub a few weeks ago and have it set to the ambient mode which cycles through photos from people online and have actually seen photos from Elia on it, thought that was pretty cool.

Big props on the tough conditions - I just don't know how you managed 3 straight hours of water and then a massage. Unfathomable the lengths guys go to for their art !

you should look at something like Sky roam or another mobile satellite internet option so you can backup the data overnight while you sleep. then even if you get robbed or the hotel burns down you don't loose data.

Looks like this trip took place by the end of April 2018, that means Autumn in one of the southern places of the world. What do you expect? Thats is how normally the weather is in that part of Chile in Autumn.

Why didnt you choose to upload to a cloud to backup? Just curious.
@JohnDrummondPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Just guessing that there wasn't enough WIFI bandwidth to make that practical. If a hard-wire transfer will take four hours, imagine how long all that data would take via an iffy WIFI.
@FStoppers6 жыл бұрын
Every day we had like 100GB of data. There is no internet fast enough to back that up day by day before moving to the next location/hotel. -P

you guys seem really surprised about the weather in patagonia ..didn't you inform yourself? climbers literally spend month and month waiting for a 2, 3, maybe even 4 day good/useable weather window! (that's why they stay cramped in tiny huts with their gear and other climbers, training, and not in spas.. : )

If the weather isn't going your way, perhaps you should go the way of the weather. I guarantee there was an epic shot to be taken...somewhere. However, it most likely was not a landscape. But, who says that "photographing the world" must necessarily be landscapes?

Don't see how erasing the specular highlights on the clouds was an improvement. I thought they added some life and interest to the already amazing photo. Why was this desirable to you guys?
@EvilNeedle904 жыл бұрын
Your focus goes to the highlights. So, if you have some specular highlights on the clouds (where not the focus should be), the focus is going to be there the most of time. By removing those, the focus goes back to the mountains
