Gedge could play this on the spoons and it would still be the best pop song ever written.

What made Gedges lyrics so good is that nothing is left to interpretation like with so many bands. He is crystal clear and you know what he is talking about. He can tell mini-stories, complete with conversation, all within 3 minutes. Great stuff.

Still got the best final line of any song “You’re not like anyone I’ve ever met - well at least not yet”. Beautiful & heartbreaking.

Sadly the Proclaimers had a huge hit walking a lot less miles. Great song still. Loving these.

Absolutely fantastic. First saw them in Leeds in 1987 when I was 20. Will be seeing them for the umpteenth time in Hull in May 2023, can't wait. One of my all time favourite bands ❤️

Please, please do a version of Take Me in this format. It would be awesome! Also, please release these sessions as a CD/downloads, I’d buy it straightaway.

At 3.55 AM I've just had a message from my wife to stop singing this.... Hell no ! I'll take the grumps in the morning but this is one of my favourite Wedding Present songs (if not dresses).

What a band in glastobury in the 80s a band never turned up and they did . David had hay fever . Told me by the stage .
