Talking about lub finesse on bd 3 and opps swinging when way behind by taking anti percentage play ..... Edgar Kaplan wrote an article many decades ago called (I think) The Deep Nine where his point was not to be bizarre but to be anti percentage and hope for a little luck rather than massive luck. Like best strategy against a better team is to play a different system rather than swing from the fences

45:00 I am not convinced the 4H bid is good. You considered partner with two aces and a king. If that does not include hearts, the heart suit is probably on some kind of finesse. and you probably need other help too. Without AKxxxx, it looks like the best case scenario is to win 2 of 3 "finesses" where the heart suit is one of the suits you need to pick up. The Q9 of hearts is nice, but not near as nice as a third trump. If the invite it does include AKxxxx, and a side Ace, don't you think the right bid would be 4H instead of an invite. Basically, you bid game hoping the robot had a hand that it should bid game with on its own. And if partner does not have AKxxxx and a side Ace, 10 tricks looks like it is a stretch that will probably require 3-2 hearts and some other help. I do think the robot overbid this one. His suit is trash opposite Qx or Jx or xx. Such holdings will be very bad if hearts break 4-1. His spades and clubs are ugly. His Ax of diamonds fits well, but unless you have something like KQJxx of diamonds, it is not that great. Besides, with soft value in 3 suits, he probably won't have time to pitch losers Opposite an unsuitable minimum, 3H could be way too high. 46:22 Why so much. 3S is too high. The minor holdings are trash. If partner does have the Jxx or Axx in diamonds, you might not get there or get there soon enough. The Hearts, while nice, may be very tough to develop if partner has no honor card. A stiff would be especially ugly. If partner has something like Qxxx in spades with an Ace he should raise 2S to 3S. If he does not, game is a long shot or simply going down. But when you bid 3H, partner should go to game on xxxx xx xxx Axxx. 3S basically asks partner to look for any excuse to bid game.
