Tears is the Rain is my favourite as well. This track really does sound like it could be on The Blade Runner soundtrack. The entire album was heavily inspired by the movie and soundtrack. Also the words it’s pointless like tears in the rain come from the monologue given towards the end of the movie by the character Roy Batty.

you're right about the japanese culture, he actually recorded most of this album in japan and was heavily influenced by it so props to you on picking that up. i believe this was one of his first times leaving canada too
