He gets a lot of influence from Michael Jackson, which he’s mentioned before. MJ used to do the little head nod while performing, in the same manner Weeknd did it. The black panther also can be seen a as reference to MJ, as he turned into a black panther at the end of his Black or White video. Most notably called “The Panther Dance”. Was an out cry against racism and violence . MJ was dancing out his frustrations while breaking things. Very controversial at the time. “Look what you’ve done, I’m a mf’n starboy” some see it as a message to MJ, look what you’ve done, look what influence you’ve had over my career. I’ve looked what you’ve done, now look what YOU’VE done. I’m a Starboy!

In starboy song there's a hidden meaning too. He's talking to his younger self who was hungry for fame money and cars. And then "look what you've done" if you notice it's "you've" and not "I've" in the chorus. He means look what your hunger has done too me, I'm a mf Star boy Now.
