Wow, I’ve listened to this song so many times over the year but I’ve never watched the music video. I always thought this song was about a woman. But now I think it’s about the media and he’s using the imagery of a woman to tell the story. He’s starts off with the interview and then we see him on the tv. I feel like he’s talking about the media. He’s doing an interview and opening up. He’s letting them “into his home” and now that’s he’s opened up he can never get that back. The media is able to talk about him as much as they want or twist his words. He’s never felt so weak as in now his privacy and peace of mind has been compromised due to the media.

I think you both should act much sensionally thinking of the situation in pain,drowning in this song. People interoperate music differently though, some music hits emotionally and some doesn't, If it makes someone laugh, cry, angry, disgusted etc surely that's the beauty of music, that music makes you feel something. Yes it has a lot of emotion in the song, but some people haven't felt experiences like this and therefore wouldn't be able to apply that emotion to the song, so it would make them feel differently. So laughing is fine in my opinion.
