John the Baptist warned the people. Matthew 3:9 (KJV) And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.... Revelation 2:17 (KJV) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Revelation 21:14 (KJV) And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. When we think of lively stones as cephas said in first Peter we rarely contemplate the Idea that God is building the kingdom with our works. I find it interesting that the brother pointed to the stones and to the bread. The devil must have also had an understanding of the importance of certain stones. Matthew 4:3 (KJV) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. John 6:12 (KJV) When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Whether stones or bread Jesus didn't loose a single one.
