I'm an encounter. 2020 felt like the worst year of my life but this message has taught me that the weight was for His glory. I was suicidal because I was feeling shame. Shame from my past. Shame about the fornication, promiscuity, broken relationships, abortion. The guilt and shame seemed to become worse the more that I was in church (in spite of the fact that I had changed my life - moved out from living with my boyfriend). Yet, I was constantly being reminded of my past and unfortunately, during one of the church services, the inference was that I was 'cheap' 'chicken and chips'. During one service, while in worship (I had just heard my Dad was suicidal) the pastor said, put your hands down and I remembered all of my mistakes and felt unworthy to worship. He later said, 'you can still have had an abortion and build a church' but by that point I thought he was just saying it to be nice and that God actually thought my worship was unacceptable. I couldn't discern God's voice from religion. I thought God hated me. The place I came for freedom felt like a trap. I started to develop thoughts that I now know to be described as pure OCD. I would have hallucinations of me doing sexual acts I had never done before when I would be at work. The lyrics of worship songs would turn sexual. I would see snakes in my dreams. I would have nightmares of being tortured. The tormentors would say, 'if God really loved you, why would he allow you to suffer?' I would have thoughts of murdering my best friend, incest, pedophilia. It was so tormenting I couldn't go out because I would rather die than do any of those things. I stumbled across one of Pastor Sarah's preaching where she said, 'lift up your hands in worship'. If the pastor tells you you're too dirty to worship, that's the devil talking. But by that point I was confused. The thoughts became blasphemous. It mocked the crucifixion and became sexual. God took me through a journey of forgiveness and staying in church. I got married this year by the pastor who made those comments. God used Him to deliver a sermon on glory God gave me in a dream several months beforehand. God sent me a book called 'The God shaped brain' by Timothy R Jennings through a random person and the song, 'my hands are lifted up'. When I listened to the song I had breakthrough. I realised the point of my trauma and God took me through Dr Caroline Leaf's 21 day brain detox problem. I learnt that there is no such thing as mental illness but a trauma that needs to be dealt with. I had an encounter when I prayed God would kill me for those thoughts, I woke up to Pastor Stephanie praying for people who were suicidal and finished her sermon with the blessing in Numbers 6 which gave me power to finish the article I was writing on Numbers 6. I learnt in my worst state that God still loved me. It's not conditional on all the things I've done right. I'm not under law but grace. Self condemnation will not save me. My faith in Christ and His perfect finished work on the cross would give me the strength to lift my head again. I learnt the difference between religion (human attempt to reach God) and relationship with God (what He did to reach us). I will use this as a point of contact to share my testimony publicly in the way God has instructed. This post is first time I've fully shared my story and is just the beginning. This morning I heard God say you're Judas. I know I know why. The guilt and pain of what I had done caused me to deny Christ but my story hasn't ended in suicide and it wont. Christ will get glory from my name the way Paul did. May God continue to use ONE LA to build the Kingdom of God, the universal body of Christ. One London. Psalm 144:1, Psalm 21, Psalm 63 and Psalm 116 for life

Am a victim of all the above you've mentioned. I fornicated and had 3 abortions. I was abused and some I gave in willfully. I lived a life of shame. I was in the deepest of the darkness. Nothing worried me that time. When I met with King/Master Jesus Christ..my life changed. Jesus asked her in John 8:10- Woman, where are your accusers?....." Neither do I..." If you're in Christ, you are a new person. All of us have a past, and most likely not a pleasant one. So, if you're reading this, perish 🚮 all the negative thoughts and the condemnation. Jesus Christ loves you. The Joy of the LORD is your strength. Isaiah 43:18- Forget the former things for I am doing something new. Shalom
