Haha. My brother told me that Sagat from Street Fighter was also based on Danny Tanner. The wrist wraps he wore were supposedly dish towels for cleaning.

I saw Bob Saget do his stand-up LIVE one time. He was an absolute madman, and it was HILARIOUS! I wish I had more chances to see him do what he did best. He was an animal 😂 it was epic

@PopCultureHyperfixations to add to the pot of awesome...it was the "That ain't right" tour and it was at a small college in Orono, Maine. Bob was interacting with the crowd and staff. He was SO brutal! So funny! He did his songs like my dog licked my balls, Danny Tanner is gay, the old limerick song... It was something I will never forget. I had no idea he did this wrestling bit haha thanks for sharing this info! This makes him even more of a legend 👏

Chikara > ROH Way more fun and way more good times were had watching chikara than watching fucking 40 minutes of a guy no selling 20 Japanese brain busters and then goes ahead and sells the fucking arm bar and cattle mutilation. At least chikara knows it's supposed to be funny.
@RecantoSombrio

I completely agree, ROH sometimes is super Boring, Chikara however has always been good at entertaining us.
@thegunslinger8806

@@RecantoSombrio ROH had its feuds and its moments, it was important in the context of the early 2000s for guys that really needed somewhere to go but otherwise it was way too dry and then lost complete sight of what it was in the late 2000s to early 2010s and it just became another indie promotion, even today its just a dev for ROH and because Tony Khan was a rich mark for it. Chikara? I'd beg the wrestling gods for it back with all the budget of AEW just for the fun of it because it was so nonsensical and hilarious.

Chikara - pro wrestling for kiddies.
@edword9980
@edword9980 3 ай бұрын
All wrestling is for kids, dolt. It’s pretend fighting. “Oooooh deathmatch wrestling” You mean the most cartoon version of wrestling there is? The one with Wild E Coyote traps?
@AndreNDP
@AndreNDP 3 ай бұрын
I mean, you say that like an insult, but it was very much intentionally geared for that. Swearing was a huge no go at Chikara shows, drinking wasn't really a thing, and I believe kids got in free, at least for some shows.
@DIESEL0759

@@AndreNDP As much as the WWF was during the 1980s expansion, there's only so long you can make a children's show, especially a pro wrestling show, that makes fun of wrestling and is going to make them continue to be fans. I'm a geezer who grew up on the NWA. I was never into hokey stuff in wrestling because it was a turn-off for me, as it is many others. I don't think "WWF Attitude" was the solution to the problem, because that was as much of an insult to one's intelligence (to paraphrase Vince McMahon) as a wrestling plumber, wrestling garbage man, wrestling hillbilles (as much a trope as the effeminate gays who appealed only to homophobes). All the invisible hand grenade and silly, hokey stuff is way more of an insult to one's intellect than anything Vince ever did. Pro wrestling, as a whole, has its own credibility issues and doesn't need any help, This is what non-fans already think of wrestling and then "you" are "an idiot" or a "stooge" or whatever insult for watching "stupid, fake wrestling". As long as "you" are going to make fun of wrestling, let me at least have "you" watch a more technical style match. Is it still a work? Of course. So is every movie, play, novel, radio, and television show ever made. Yet, "you" don't see actors saying, "Ehhh, don't bother, this is just stupid fake shit and "you" are STU-PID for watching this!!", as WWE commentary was like for a long time when they were trying to plug everything else on television and discuss "Britney Spears" rather than talk about what's actually taking place on the screen/in the ring. I guess if one has an IQ of 3 or hates wrestling, then this is for them, but I couldn't imagine saying, "Aw, man, this shit I GOTTA see!!!!! A wrestling chipmunk that makes fun of CM Punk?? I am SO in!!" Not a big fan of Colt Cabana for the same reasons. I've actually known Colt for years. He knows his stuff, but the majority of the time, his shtick is tailor made for indies. I'm not totally against goofs in wrestling. I actually kinda dug Edge and Christian's "5 second pose" stuff and Eric Young's "scaredy cat" stuff and the traditional "embarrass the heel manager", and all of it has a place, but in small doses, because it has a short shelf life, the same way "hardcore" and CZW and such do (because most of them can't work without weapons and broken glass).
