Lost in - I find the Olympus IS line of Cameras are Forward thinking and more Advanced than others like Canon PHOTURA and Minolta . as a Former camera salesman in the 1990's , the Camera chain I worked for Stocked the Full Line of Olympus ZLR - zoom lens Reflex , aka Bridge cameras. Before there was the IS series Olympus partnered with Konica , using their Mirai cameras , and Chinon Genesis to cerate their AZ series Lineup. did you know in Japan Olympus had a Full Range of Acessory for the IS series , including Ultra Wide lenses, and Telescopic add on to the built in lens , and even a GUN style stock and stabilization Rails for the Acessory lenses. and the IS series continued into the APS film era and went on to make Digital cameras based on the IS Design.

I just bought the IS-300 and although I'm just starting the first roll of film I think it's a nice camera. The autofocus is better than I expected and the overall experience is very pleasing.

the Olympus AF is great because its a real TTL sensor , unlike compedators. Olympus also provides a external AF assist beams and one of the Few cameras with Wireless RF flash.

If you use the 6+ different setting off the back screen it is very very sharp focusing. Useing flash gives you better results.

The external flash is the only way to use this indoors away from windows. And it’s not a basic flash at all! It’s one of the best flashes ever made. The IS-3000 has flash modes that take into account ambient light and distance. And the shoe flash can talk with the camera through the proprietary coupling. The only way to get good indoor flash shots is with bounce flash and that is superbly well supported.

I can't figure out how to load this film? Perhaps my model is broken. No matter how many times i've tried to align the leader it will still show Empty :(
@Lostin35mm3 жыл бұрын
There is a small red lip over the shutter that helps to keep the film flat when loading. If you’re tucking the film under that and pulling it all the way to the marker and it’s not loading, it might be that your model is defective :/

Would you please show yourself loading film into this camera? I'm asking because I am trying to make sure scans of photos, which I believe were shot with this camera, are in chronological order. The negative film strips are confusing because when viewing the photos in right reading orientation, the frame numbers and film IDs are up-side-down.

Hey there! This is an awesome vid and I just bought this camera but I’m having trouble loading the film in. Could you help???
@Lostin35mm4 жыл бұрын
Hey! The film is loaded by opening the back, putting the film canister in the compartment on the right and pulling the film from the canister over the shutter to the left, there is a small red lip on top of the shutter that will help to keep the film down. Then pull the film all the way over to the "Film Tip" marker on the camera, after which just close the back and the camera should wind the film to the first frame automatically. Hope this helps!

brother, I have the same camera. please throw off the video in detail where to manually change the iso !!!
@Lostin35mm3 жыл бұрын
You can’t manully set the ISO on this model unfortunately. The most you can do is try to play with exposure compensation to for example overexpose by 1-2 stops
@broco97443 жыл бұрын
@@Lostin35mm what settings could be better with exposure when I need to shoot at iso 6-12.
@Lostin35mm3 жыл бұрын
You could always meter manually with an external meter and just use the camera in full manual to get past the cameras dx code reader.
@broco97443 жыл бұрын
@@Lostin35mm well, look ... I need to photograph on expired Soviet film ... on iso 3-6-12 .. How can I set the necessary parameters for it if my Olympus does not have ios settings?
@Lostin35mm3 жыл бұрын
The ISO is needed only for the camera to do automatic exposure. You could have an external lightmeter (like a sekonic or just a phone app) and in it set your ISO for example at 6, then it will tell you the shutter speed and aperture needed. Then you’ll just set the camera to full manual and set the settings to what your meter tells you. That way you can shoot any ISO film in the camera, you just can’t have it automatically expose it for you.
