@@cloudgazer4570 Actually yes I can. The amount of pollution caused by the production process of the Prius negates any environmental benefit that the Prius may have. The nickel used in the battery for example is mined in Ontario in a process so dirty that the surrounding environment of these mines are a ‘dead zone’. The nickel is then sent to a refinery in Europe, then China and finally Japan where it is built into the car. The process of mining the nickel and then shipping said nickel causes so much environmental damage that you’d be better off owning one of the pickup trucks that Prius owners like to scream at.

@@triplecrownracing I know all that, but still, it's insignificant to the one fact what I said. As a doctor I experience first hand how harmful exhaust gases are. So fewer or even zero emissions are a god damn blessing. Everywhere from environmental protection areas to small villages, but especially in highly populated smog ridden cities. Clean air is awesome and you can only reach it with hybrids and fully electric cars. So yeah, while what you said is all true, it still doesn't negate that one fact what I wrote.

Fair enough I suppose. It still uses an ICE though so it isn't entirely squeaky clean. My point is that it isn't the ultimate eco-warrior tool that most Prius owners claim it to be. It does beg the question though, if everyone in the world drove a Prius, would the local benefits outweigh the global detriment.?Furthermore, is the manufacturing process of Hybrid, Battery Electric and possible Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars ultimately a necessary evil to improve the global situation? I wonder if it's a case of, you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.

I watched Super GT a few years ago and I remember there was a race I watched where the Prius leading the GT300 Class. It was a bit strange, I know. With a Lambo, AMG GT, GTRs, Supras, NSXs, brz, my favourite, Evora, and some more. I wasn’t too shocked though, I knew it was a hybrid.

I saw one of the videos about the evolution of Toyota’s LMP1 car, and I saw that the ts030 has a rV8 klm V8 engine producing 530 horsepower, combined with a electric motor that produces 300-350 horsepower making it having nearly 900 horsepower. If this is the same engine that is mounted on the Toyota Prius gt300, does this mean that the car has exceeded the upper limit of 500 horsepower?

Yes. The more electrified a car is, the more it pollutes in the manufacturing process. And most pollution a car produces is in its manufacturing process. Still, Prius is less polluting than EVs such as Tesla.

@@triplecrownracing that's a short term loss vs the longterm effect of continuing to use conventional cars I don't believe we would be where we are going without its introduction if your speaking of the cost to make the battery pack that's not too bad overall to the environment as it allows us to make use of the battery more thus using the engine less and putting out none or very little pollution. And now we have total ev cars so yeah things are looking a little up from here on out.

@Roosevelt Brentwood It was a prototype racer that raced at Le mans and some other events. Made to be as Light weight and Slippery to the wind. Thus, a rocket ship on the straights. The idea was Panoz’s, if I remembered correctly. Wasn’t even that slow through corners even, if you asked me.

You know the McLaren F1, regarded as one of the greatest performance cars ever, has a BMW engine? That pretty much all-new Aston Martins use a Mercedes engine? That Toyota collaborated with Yamaha on the 2JZ? That the Toyota GT86, one of the most beloved sports cars of a generation, has the engine from a Subaru? Manufacturers collaborating with one another isn't a bad thing and has actually produced some of the best cars ever created.

Would be heavier and slower compared to the LMP V8 race engine. Might be more power depending on the LS you're swapping in, but still heavier and slower overall.
