To everyone saying that a woman CAN fight like this while going through labor, let me remind you that labor for a woman is very often claimed to be as painful (or more painful) as a man being kicked in the nuts. This is a 2 minute scene. Imagine being kicked in the nuts continuously for 2 minutes. This has nothing to do with misogynistic "women can't fight" bulls**t. It is more that in labor, moments before the baby is coming out, she can't fight. Get the baby's head half way out and then stand up to do an obstacle course. See what happens. This scene is too cinematic and not at all realistic.
@klaiken9893 жыл бұрын
First of all this isn't Earth and those aren't humans in terms of what you are thinking of it. They are on a complete different planet, in as far as we know a different dimension/galaxy. With magic and different rules of physics. They already stated in this show that her peoples are more than exceptional fighters and to be only feared in combat. So to tie our human general limits to these "human" lookong aliens in this show is hubris. Most have already demonstrated that they are far more powerful than our Earth humans physically and more. So save your "realism" and other isms for a show that grounded its lore on Earth. They habe Orgres in their world for crying out loud. I think you might just not be comfortable with the idea of a women besting a man in combat... I'll make it easy for you snowflake. They aren't on Earth or any where near our zipcode

@@rickbruner5525 Easily explained. Amber Miller (27 at the time if it matters) was NOT in labor DURING the race. She went into labor 30 minutes after ending the race while resting. 4 hours after that she delivered the child (a girl, June, btw). While still impressive to run 26 miles on the same day, it is significantly different than the show in which the woman was in labor and fighting at the same time then gave birth minutes after the fight. TL;DR Amber ran a marathon while pregnant, not while in labor.
@fanghur3 жыл бұрын
@@emrek99205 This actually happened in the books, more or less. We don't actually get to witness it in the books, but it is canonical that Tigraine fought in the Aiel War, became pregnant in the Aiel War, refused to sit the battle out despite being in labour, and was heavily implied to have fought a last stand on the slopes of Dragonmount shortly before giving birth and dying soon after from her wounds. So while, yeah, it's probably pretty unrealistic, it isn't non-canonical. Also, keep in mind that she is carrying the Dragon Reborn, which the Pattern needs, so it's entirely possible that it spun itself in some way to provide her some plot armor. But even if that isn't the case, I'll say this much: if any woman would be capable of doing something like this, it would be an Aiel Maiden of the Spear, or someone fanatically trained as one anyway. Also, this actually IS Earth by the way, at least a fantasy version of it. The headcanon of the fandom is that the Age that preceded the Age of Legends is probably our modern times plus magic. But yeah, canonically the Wheel of Time does take place on our planet.

So is Elayne and she has light red hair, too. And besides, the show isn't married to the characters ethnicities in the books. Even though the casting will change some things in curious way (all Borderlands being some derivation of asian cultures instead of the fusions from the books because many people think that all Borderlanders have saldean eyes), I prefer it to them having dozens of times more people in their castings than other productions and having to take actors just because of their ethnicity.

Tower of Joy had the advantage of better choreography. The individual cuts were longer. This fight has the camera bouncing around almost as much as the weapons. Just did a comparison, in the 114 seconds of this fight (first attack to final drop) there were 76 cut angles. Average of 1.5 seconds each. The Tower of Joy fight (same start/end) was 141 seconds with 64 cut angles. Average of 2.2 seconds each. However, that includes the non-combat cuts of Bran talking about the fight. Ignoring those, there still were three 6-7 second clips of fighting without cut angles. I'm not sure how long the longest was in the WoT fight but it couldn't have been more than 3 seconds and even the those were just closeups of her face. If those can be included as a long clip (filler mostly) then so can Bran's narration.
