Great song by a great group. I remember when this came out I was in 7th grade. The adults couldn’t believe us teenage kids were jamming to the Whispers because they knew them throughout the 70’s as a Blue Lights : romantic group. Definitely a game changer for them🎼

Wow, this tune and It's A Love Thing are my 2 favorites by them! I believe Sonny & Cher had a song titled The Beat Goes On which was also pretty groovy! Boogie meter 5! I like the lyrics because it gives one hope that something better may come along! Have a great weekend and see you on Monday hopefully! Bye!

The Whispers and Shalamar were on the same label. Give a listen to Dynasty, also on the SOLGAR label, with them doing "I've Just Begun To Love You", "Love In The Fast Lane" and "Here I Am" for more of that great SOLGAR dance sound.

Dynasty is mad underrated. They got some great grooves. One of their members actually co-wrote And the Beat Goes On. In fact William Shelby wrote/co-wrote several tracks for other label mates.

Hi Angela 😊 Fabulous reaction to The Whispers' And The Beat Goes On😊👍 Very nice groove in the video... they're really dancing up a storm to a nice beat and the groups moves for fantastic 😊 On the Boogie Meter I'm going to give it a four as the people on the dance floor were doing a great job booging down 😊 Have a great day and bye 😊👍

0:39 Nothing wrong that you “cannot stand” The Whispers’ “Rock Steady”. Completely fine. That said, I’d love to hear *that same energy* when you “cannot stand” a song in upcoming uploads. You always seem too worried about offending your Patreon that requested the tune so you let them down gently. Please be as authentic about future reactions like you are here about “Rock Steady”. Thank you! And. GIRL. C’mon now. Will Smith. “Miami”. You tried it though. 😂😉✌🏽

Sound of Los Angeles Recordings (SOLAR) were the deal. Angela you shock me a bit how you're not feeling The Whispers that much. Damn they got the groove on with this track. That bass is juicy. The great thing about the Whispers is how versatile they are. Slow jams, mid tempo jams and upbeat hip movers. You may have also heard this because it is the main sample to Will Smith's "Miami"
