She had a husband. Most of videos about her don't mention the fact, but she was married to a fellow pilot Aleksey Solomatin. He was also an ace fighter who shot down dozens of Nazi warplanes. He was KIA in May of 1943 and she outlived him only couple of months.

if you liked this, you will love the story of "The Night Witches" or "die Nachthexen" as the unfortunate German soldiers who suffered from their attacks called them - the WW2 Soviet all woman squadron of bomber pilots - there' s a few videos on here of them - or as an alternative WW2 story look out here for "The man who never was" - British subterfuge & deception that was on another level!

10:25 because it was still the USSR. And it’s not conspiracy theorists. They clearly state historians believe this.

which historians?

@@tripsaplenty1227 I clearly said they state in the video that historians believe this.

@@dimitrijensk2845 yeah, who are these historians specifically. You see how empty "historians say" is now?
@dimitrijensk284511 ай бұрын
@@tripsaplenty1227 ask Yarnhub, not me. I for one believe them because they are meticulous in their research. I’ve personally only seen one or two mistakes in their videos. What are you even trying to say, anyway? The reactor said conspiracy theories. The video says historians believe this is what happened if she truly did survive. All I’m doing is pointing out that it is not a “conspiracy theory.”

@@dimitrijensk2845 again I have to ask who are these "real historians"? Right now I have to assume there are none because zero examples have been provided.

You like history? Would you be willing to try Sabaton's "No Bullets Fly" or "Night Witches" (both with Yarnhub). They are amazing stories of valor and honor and they are historically accurate.

You have no idea how much the Soviet Union sucked under Stalin. Most unattached people would have fled in a heartbeat if they had the chance. Maybe she had amnesia, getting shot and crashing your airplane could make one want to forget the whole mess...
