The basketball coaches in my high school cut me all 4 years that I went out for the team, so I was not "allowed" to participate even though there were 3 vacant spots on the team during my senior year. Hence, watching this show allowed me to enjoy high school basketball vicariously. Thanks Coach Reeves (RIP) and Reese (RIP).

Everybody should have a Coach like Ken Reeves.
@johnfu38502 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, that is the way coaches should be. Coach Reeves genuinely cared for the well being of the players and was there to help the young boys grow. Unlike him, the basketball coaches in my high school were there to relive their own glory days. In fact, they achieved orgasmic high when they cut dedicated players. Not only had they done that to me all 4 years, but the varsity coach actually left 3 extra spots vacant and cut me while seeing that I was working hard on my own all 4 years to improve my game. Of course, the greatest irony is that school is a Jesuit school and therefore preaches the idea of teaching the kids to be "men for others." What a bunch of hypocrites.

Minute 1:04:54 - 1:05:33 sounds like a more slow but danceable version of the song Don't let go by the Black Moses, quite a biggest hit back in 1980, MAN, how I wish I lived my youth back in the day, even this tv show gives me ideas on how to dress vintage casual P.S. I think that's one of the reasons why I couldn't relate to this show back then. I was a junior then and already began moving in a different direction musical taste wise. For me, it was the individual members and their group Return To Forever and Weather Report, and I was just turned onto the Fania Allstars about that time too.

The show was never a ratings success for CBS. The numerous Emmy nominations and critical acclaim are what kept the show on the air for its three seasons.
@GarwinWayne2 ай бұрын
One problem was the moving the show around constantly. One minute it aired on Mondays, then Saturdays, then Tuesdays, then on Wednesday then back on Tuesdays then back to Mondays. Plus the actors strike of 1980 didn't help matters none. After that only the successful shows survived.
