Saw them in Atlanta in the Second "Quadrophenia" tour. They played the whole movie on a screen, and They played songs from the movie live. Incredible and magical night. Roger did most of the talking to the people there, and he is very kind to the fans. The whole band is really into the fans. I hope I get to see them again. If you can go see them, you will be happy you did. Great upload.

I am so pleased with Zac's fit with The Who. He may not be Keith Moon but he is the best fit of all who tried to fill those shoes. How many can say they played with not only the greatest Rock and Roll band of their own GGGeneration but this one as well. Played with living legends, in the ghost of a revered dead one, and held up his end of the log admirably.
@5jerry19 жыл бұрын
It was inevitable Keith Moon would crash and burn, and continuing with Zak Starkey was probably their best decision. I like Simon Philips; he could have pulled it off in the longer term, I don't know why he was only a temp. And Kenney Jones just didn't seem to fit right, good as he is. Zak is a perfect fit I think.

Los Beatles, The Who, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Negro Sabbath, Queen, Iggy Pop y The Stooges, The Ventures. Por supuesto, todo esto es subjetivo y refleja mi propia opinión personal. Eso es lo bueno de rock n roll muchas grandes bandas de muchos puntos de vista diferentes de la Paz Hermano / Hermana de Michigan

Pete Townsend sort of invented "hard" rock, but the melodies in his songs are superior to many other groups, and this all began when? 1964? 1965? Amazing! Keith's manic drumming, John's melodic hard bass..............never gonna' see the likes of these three again.......and, of course Roger's rockin' voice!
@5jerry19 жыл бұрын
Daltrey has said before Townshend started writing, he only sang in a Howlin' Wolf/James Brown style. Pete's songs pulled him out of his comfort zone, and early on, it showed. Some early live clips showed him struggling, but I think he adapted nicely. He took on the melodies, and did a good job with them, and as his vocal style developed, we all can see what he became.

I saw The Who live three weeks ago. It's like your life-long love. Sure, she's older, sagging a bit, maybe the youth is gone, but when you look in her eyes she's still the same incredible girl you've known all your life. Pete and Rog still have the fire, and I'm glad they're keeping it alive.

I got to see this tour in 2000 when they came to Denver. I couldn't take my eyes off of Zak Starkey. To this day, the best drummer i've seen live.
@LightenUpMcGraw11 жыл бұрын
The great thing about Zak Starkey playing with The Who is that he has the spirit of Moonie in his playing. No one will ever sound like Keith but his energy and spirit need to be a part of their live shows or it isn't worth the effort and he brings that here. Bargain is a great example of the energy he brought back to this great band.

Karen Francis You're right, but I've just seen the footage of Glastonbury 2015, with Pete saying "We're here to send you home... HAPPY!" And I think they did... Like I said, they haven't changed a bit in 50 years: they're on a stage to fight a war... and they win it!
@karenfrancis18939 жыл бұрын
Yes Glastonbury 2015 was brilliant. Pity the bbc didn't publish all of it. I'm still amazed at the fitness and vocal power of Roger Daltrey and of course Pete is still Pete. They both seemed to really enjoy themselves, long may they reign

Karen Francis Glad you see it my way! I loved the Stones, but it seems they're past their best... I still LOVE "Thee 'oooo"! But let's be honest: the vocal power of Roger... 'mmmmhhh... I have a few favorite bands but my love affair wit "The Who" began after I saw the "Kids are All Right" while in College back in 1979. I was forever changed. I had the pleasure of personally meeting and shaking the hand of John Entwistle shortly before the Who Quadrophenia concert in St. Louis in 1999 at an art exhibit he was premiering in Clayton, MO. I told him personally what he and his band meant to me. I must say though. John looked old, weak and tired which really concerned me then.

No band from the '60s rock as hard, with as much conviction, attitude and power, into the new millenium as the Who. Or even rock bands from the '70s, '80s or '90s. So many people were sad and dissapointed when Led Zeppelin didn't tour after their one-shot reunion at the O2 Arena ... Robert, Jimmy and John Paul must have seen their peers in the Who, and knew they'd look ridiculous in comparison. Not even close.
