They are probably THE best live rock band of all time. You're right about them experimenting with sounds, Pete Townshend was probably the first lead guitarist to use feedback on stage and was heavily into the technology of synthesizers and amps so understood how to get the best out of sounds, in the studio, but also live. You will often see him adjusting the settings of not only his guitar, but his amps.

This is the one song that can completely survive being pulled out of the story line and live off its own merits. It is a beautiful love song that I actually used at my wedding party (with complete blessings from my wife). Our families were mildly shocked that we included this in our song list as well as "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin...

Dude you’re young and there’s tons of time to pick it up again. Knowing piano opens the doors to all other instruments and I bet it’ll be like riding a bike once you start. I’m 53 and all I ever wanted to be was a rock singer and mom, I’m a mom and my singing sucks ass now but back in the day I could belt this out all day. I gave it up, I’m to old, you’re not. Go for it! 💜🎵💜

Glad that you listened to requests forThe Who ! "Won't Get Fooled Again" is my all-time favorite Who song - it will rock you. They have so many great songs with Keith Moon - one of the best rock drummers of all time, Pete Towshend, a genius on guitar and lead singer Roger Daltrey. Bass player John Entwisle was one of rock's best with the bass guitar. He woud stand stock still on stage while the other three were going crazy. Their live performances are the best in rock. Watch: you will see.

For some people growing up in North America in the mid-1960s, the first "British Invasion" in popular music was led by The Beatles, and with them The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Kinks in that first wave. There were many more, but those ones seemed to make the deepest ongoing impact at the time. And all of those bands evolved and the sound of their songs changed, even if The Beatles stopped in 1970. The Who had already been active together, recording and playing concerts, for eight years when Pete Townsend finished writing and the group recorded the 'rock opera' Quadrophenia. And that composition is a whole, so taking songs from it out of context is challenging. That said, "The Real Me", "5:15", and "Love, Reign O'er Me" are now considered amongst rock and roll classics.

I know I know but if you don't get this stuff sorted before you go, lord knows what you might get sent off to. Kajagoogoo? Kiley? Jason Donovan? The hideous possibilities are endless, lol. Really good reaction guys. This is the final song on the rock opera "Quadrophenia" which tells the story of a young man who society has given up on. He's sad and angry and ready to give up, but in the end, he decides that he doesn't want to live with fear, anger and hate any more and he wants love to be is guide, he wants love to reign over him. It's incredibly beautiful and my favorite song of all time. I highly recommend listening to the full album!

Eminent Front, Pinball Wizard, The Seeker, Behind Blue Eyes, are more killer tunes from The Who. The 70's seemed to be full of power rock bands. All had their own lane, but competed against each other and all still were top bands. Obviously the GOATs being Zeppelin. You had The Who, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, Queen, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eagles, this list could go for some time. The point is, they all are still relevant today and influenced many of our 80s and 90s music. Most of these bands will never be forgotten.

Yo! I recommend you try to slowly get back into piano a bit. I took it as a kid for 8ish years and didn't like it, and never understood why I was made to play it. I'm ~30 and got myself a cheap electric board and realized that it was much more enjoyable on my own time, when I was playing for myself. It obviously doesn't come back as easily as riding a bike, but I think you'll be surprised with how much muscle memory you will still have. It's been a fun experience for me to revisit piano playing now that I'm older and have a greater appreciation for music as a whole. Cheers!

One of the biggest bands in rock history, bro’s! They hit a couple of years before Zeppelin. Before Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey was no doubt the best vocalist in rock....and many would argue that he was better than Plant. And some think that Plant copied Daltrey’s stage persona. But Roger says “no” to that.....Plant was all Plant. In any case, The Who have a HUGE discography....including TWO “rock operas”, one of which, Tommy, was the first such undertaking in the Rock genre. The energy they put out in their live shows was off the charts. They were never “my band”, but that didn’t mean I didn’t respect their place in Rock history. The Who are right up there with Zeppelin, The Stones, the Beatles, Floyd, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple. One of the BIG ones. It’s good that you are getting around to them.

The WHO….. “The Kids Are Alright” Tour 1989. Rich Stadium Buffalo N.Y…….. AWESOME After the concert the Who were being interviewed on the local radio station and the DJ asked the band…. “So what do you think about that new RAP music coming out”…. Roger Daltrey laughed and started to answer when John Entwistle said….. “let me answer this one….. It seems to me that if you can’t write music, can’t play music, can’t sing music, if you know absolutely nothing at all about music, well then, you do rap now don’t you”….. Then. Pete Townshend said….. “If Hitler was going to come back and torture the world again he would use rap music. Roger Daltrey laughed and said…. “Isn’t that the truth”
