What i have realized is that putting on the full armor of God is not a prayer or mental exercise. It is a matter of Revelation. How do you put on the belt of truth? Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life. You put on the belt of truth by first accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior and second by recognizing each and every day that you are in fact Jesus’s and no one can pluck you from his hand. You are a son/daughter of God. How do you put on the breastplate of righteousness? Through the revelation that by faith in Jesus you ARE righteous, you don’t have to become righteous. Through your faith in Christ that has already happened. So you put it on by recognizing that you are in fact righteous and no condemnation of the enemy can change that so remind yourself each day of this truth. How do you fit your feet with the boots of readiness? By accepting, knowing, and sharing the Gospel. So each day ask God to show you who it is he wants you to talk to and share the gospel with. you fit your feet with the boots of readiness by being willing to do the will of God no matter what. How do you take up the shield of Faith? Recognizing your faith in God and Jesus is your shield and your refuge, your place of protection. When we pray in Jesus’s name, we do not or should not do so as a matter of ritual. Our prayer in Jesus’s name is us saying, we recognize the power of the name of Jesus and we have submitted to God’s authority. Our faith in God and his word makes us secure. How do we take up the helmet of Salvation? First by getting saved and second by rejecting all those thoughts of the enemy that would get us to question our salvation or even reject our salvation. How do we take up the sword of the spirit, the word of God? By first recognizing is the word of God by which We defeat Satan’s deceptions. That Greek word for “word” in Ephesians 6:17 is Rhema which means the spoken word. The written word of God is the doorway through which God speaks to us and it is the word that is the double-edged sword. How did Jesus counter the devil in the desert, by the word of God? Jesus said I only do what I see my father do. Why did Paul not fear the storm and the shipwreck on his way to Rome? Because God told him he was going to Rome. He had a word from God. Why did he not fear when he was bitten by the viper? Because he had a word from God. That was his sword that cut through the fear the deception Satan tried to lay on him. we speak the written word from our mouth. power This is how you put on the full armor of God. It isn’t an exercise of just saying I put these items on. You put these things on through revelation and through reminding ourselves of the revelation.
