'The whole case is weird to me' | Defense lawyer makes opening statements, protesting that Tori Lang

Opening statements are set to begin Tuesday in the trial of Austin Ford. He's accused of killing 18-year-old Tori Lang and leaving her body in a Gwinnett County Park nearly two years ago.

Ford is accused of felony murder, aggravated assault, voluntary manslaughter, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and two counts of theft by taking and tampering with evidence relating to Lang's death.
Police believed that he was Lang's friend at one point and said the two knew each other. At the time, the 20-year-old was being held in Clayton County for an unrelated theft charge. Records show that he was booked into the Gwinnett County jail on June 9, 2022.
Authorities have not said how they linked Ford to Lang's murder or how they are friends. Police have not said if there could be any other suspects in the case.

If he didnt kill her which i beleive he did,he sure wasnt that much of a friend,and to his lawyer who keeps using the word wierd whats weird is your client letting a friend take her life and helping her.

Why burn the car because of the conversation her saying why are you scared it makes me wonder about the suicide. I'm not killing my friend you suppose to love her get her help tell her mom that's showing love not helping her take her self out so I don't know ..

The man didn't show any emotion and the mother was hiding the fact her daughter had issues which is clear and I get it .Why was he so emotionless she still was supposed to be his friend and a ex yeah they both was a little not there .They shouldn't have been involved toxic is what it's giving mentally .

This is a mess and shows the messiness of a friendship. How did her own mom's gun get used to shot her? Why was her "best friend" never in the house to sit when mom was home? How did the mom know this dude was always outside or down the street to hang with her daughter? Her daughter had just graduated high school and the mom seemed unsure of her daughter's jobs that lived with her. Why did she leave house without phone and mom didn't know where she went? Mom said on stand that when she and husband were out of town, Austin dude was inside....why was he duckin' and divin' from mom and the daughter was rolling with that? It was too much going on that wasn't transparent which is why this case is like this.

Everything his lawyer is saying is facts because the other lawyer said the same thing but in a different way fact number 1 she wanted to kill herself evidence her mom gun that she took evidence the raing camera when he said he was scared n she replied why are u scared fact number 2 the way the body was laid with her braids pulled up the corner said by the bullet going through her head straight will damage the stem so it would shut everything down meaning she couldn't move fact 3 the friend then took the gun and the car and left evidence the gun was not on the scene neither was her car fact 4 friend came back home alone n went into the house for the rest of the night car was not seen again he stated that he gave her car to someone else. So everything i just said came from both lawyers mouth. So yes find him guilty for leaving the scene of a murder n not calling 911 and yes find him guilty for tampering with evidence but the rest no

Unlike everybody under these comments i know Austin personally. He was never a person that was known as someone who would harm anybody especially woman. I do know him as a lier to save himself when he's scared, he's definitely known for that and being a little slow when it comes to decision making. I know it may sound iffy but i believe he is innocent and he had a shitty lawyer that had no intentions on helping him. Question is why would she bring her mothers gun if she really didnt plan on killing herself? He was there to support because he's known for that. He really is a compassionate, kind person and he dont deserve to go out like he's a killer cuz he isnt.

Who had the gun residue on their hands? Case solved. I have watched this from day one and I think it's more to it. Tori had some suicidal bouts and had been admitted into the psychiatric facilities from what her mother indicated, she also had taken her mother's gun. This is very bizarre 😳 Austin shouldn't have ever removed the gun IF she self inflicted and IF he was innocent. I still want to know if Tori had gun residue on her right hand. And being under a tree to shield the moon from the light sounds to me like she knew where she wanted to unalive her self. Just my opinion. Dudes very unlikely to think of this when they are offing someone 🥺
