But a Marc Pau and Odom front court would’ve still been a very good front court. But I still think to this day the Bynum Gasol Odom front court is one of the best ever!

This was actually a genuis move by west. Pau was starting to get old, so they best thing they could've done was a rebuild with someone younger that had promising potential. Grizzlies never won a playoff game with Pau, so there was no point in trying to rebuild with him as he was aging. West turned the grizzlies from one of the worst teams of the 2000s to one of the best defensive teams in the 2010s

The Lakers also included a very young Marc Gosol in that trade. At the time it appeared very one sided, though Marc was eventually a captain on the Grizzlies, All-star, and Defensive Player of the Year. It worked for both teams. Kwame Brown had the worst hands I've ever seen in basketball. We used to call him the man with the hands of steel. He sucked.
