i remember back when i was in grade 1, we had to do this project where we chose an animal, did resaerch on it, and make a poster about it. i chose a megaladon, and i was the most enthuseastic about this project out of the whole class. i spent a long time doing reaserch, and since it was a poster we also got to draw a picture, so i drew proberly the trashiest picture ever, but i was proud of it at the time.

That’s an interesting idea, but if I remember correctly, there are no living sharks that belonged to the same genus as the megalodon. I’m not sure if any living genus of shark is even close. Current research shows that not just the Meg, but the meg’s whole family is gone.

To whoever does research for The Infographics Show: BE CAREFUL! You mistakenly said the largest Great White was 36 ft. Though there have been measurements, they are questionable. The top confirmed size a Great White can get is 20ft. The 36ft supposed White may actually of been a case of mistaken identity, such as a Basking shark.

I'm laughing so hard 20 ft that's all they get they could never get bigger than 20 ft never and as we all know scientists are absolutely correct in all matters no matter what the subject they know more than anybody in the whole wide world now I'm rolling in the aisles. Deep down inside every scientist knows that a Megalodon exists but they just like watching people get eaten by sharks they find it entertaining. And since they're so convinced there's not enough food they don't want the public to be deterred from going in the water how are they going to feed their pet megalodons. Don't live forever but what about the jellyfish studies where we know that they live forever. Anytime Sciences involved they contradict themselves day in and day out it's hilarious especially the blind people who followed them and hang on their every word like it's gospel. Come on babe what you going to believe your own eyes or something a scientist told you.

@De Corius TV the thing is 20% of the oceans have been mapped and there are somethings called sonars and satellites that they use to scan the ocean. The other 80% of the ocean is just dead space where a lot of things can’t survive. The megalodon was a warm water shark, its impossible for it be somewhere in the deep ocean because it would die from the cold water. If it still existed, it wouldn’t hide itself and we would’ve found it a while ago. If it evolved into something else then it wouldn’t be a megalodon anymore.

Great point. The biggest herbivore gets the most grazing territory. The larger predator keeps the meal. The drawback is that both, due to their size, need more calories to sustain life.

Leviathan can't be dismissed in the story of the demise of megalodon. While a single leviathan might fall to megalodon, remember: whales swim in pods or packs. The bigger brain and pack behavior would render leviathan a formidable adversary for diminishing resources in a changing ocean.

Yes, sharks are ectothermic as mentioned in the video, but wouldn't Megalodon's large size in and of itself create a gigantothermy effect? Allowing it to venture into cooler waters? Regardless many Great Whites, despite being smaller, still don't venture far into cold waters.

The alleged 36ft. specimen mentioned in this video was debunked in 1970 by J.E. Reynolds by measuring the jaws it was proven the giant caught in the 1870’s was actually about 17 feet in length, The Port Fairy Giant was just a big fish story instead of a tale of a sea monster.

Btw there's another marine animal in the ocean that can fight or dominate over the Megalodon. That marine creature is Livyatan whale. Its also said that it hunted Megalodon as food. The Livyatan whale is also very deadly it also has razor sharp, serrated and tough teeth. Its 80-100 feet long. It can defeat the Meg. Livyatan also has a tough body so hard for the Meg to injury it.
