Yea that seems to be a running theme in Chinese drama's.. They try to make you empathize with the cheating spouse and the person they cheated with.. They also love to put the person being cheated on through the worst emotional and sometimes physical abuse and then by the end make them take the cheating spouse back and forgive them.. Or make the person who got cheated on beg the cheater not to leave them for the mistress.. It's really insane..

You have to remember that China has A TRADITION of what we in the US call bigamy ( the emperors). They find it perfectly normal, to marry then find a Mistress outside of marriage.
