As my marriage was failing so was that 60 year old peach which came with the house and when it finally blew over I left it where it fell, inspite of taking up nearly half of my 20 x 30 suburban back lawn. When my wife finally left, one grievance she cited was the "dead" tree in the yard. So sad for her she couldn't see how it had come to be so replete with life, as bramble and bittersweet entwined the limbs branches and twigs in the process of pulling in back into the earth, sprouting their own blossoms and fruit, enticing a variety of wildlife as never before seen in mine or any of my neighbor's yards. Accidental birds from afar were not uncommon. And when a new friend came into my life after half a dozen years of quiet pain, she kindly inquired about the tree, now at least 10 years into its rebirth to which I said, "Ah that. Just wait and see". From then on morning coffee, or mid day sun or evening chill was spent as we, sitting quiet and still with a front row to Nature all in Full. Such was an oasis on our tiny lot in an even tinier house

Piet's practice of using perennials in naturalistic schemes has certainly changed the way that we ourselves garden and choose plants. He's a living legend 🙏

wonderful. Our gardens are an easy way to contribute to saving the planet and its wild beings. even if we start small, plant a few natives, leave the leaf piles and dead flowers and be less perfect in our gardens the bees and birds and butterflies will start to come back quickly.

It's an experiment, but what with my being quarantined due to my age (during the coronavirus pandemic) and an interest in letting things grow as they will, including what are called weeds, I have let my suburban back and front gardens run free. I do cut back on the invasions of bramble and ivy; but that's about it. My neighbours - hello, this is England - want very tidy lawns and their gardens very tightly contolled. I'm seeing some interesting developments as we enter into June in 2020.

I loved to see your beautiful wild garden which is useful for birds and insects and other wild live. I think these are the good deeds god expect from us where he will satisfied be of your good job of preserving his beautiful nature he may certainly like to visit your garden instead of going to some church or temple where foolish people come now and then just to beg in front of him without doing any good job. My best wishes to you .
