Really admire your whistle playing. You can hear your pipe playing in that too. Wonderful rendition. You truly do justice to the whistle and make McNeele proud. Well done!

I now own all the Wild Irish whistles except the B flat, and I must say I absolutely love these whistles! There is no question at all that your fantastic demonstrations inspired me to purchase these whistles. And this is exactly one of the things a musician should do, that is to get the word out on a really great instrument which will inspire others to greater heights. Many people will enjoy the beauty of Irish music through these whistles. Bravo!

Ah "Hector the Hero" one of my favourite Scots melodies. I first heard it played by Alasdair Fraser at one of his summer camps. I only have the Wild "D" at the moment, but it is a world away from the cheaper models I have played to date (Generation, Clarkes, Feadóg, etc). I never felt I was getting anywhere worth going with them, but I've come on by leaps and bounds since diving in at the deep end and buying a "Wild".

Beautiful! Thank you so much for continuing with the demo of these wonderful whistles! I especially love my Wild C whistle. I am waiting for the A whistle review, but I really wish I had bought the Wild B-flat instead of the Killarney..
@marioguitar1002 жыл бұрын
whats wrong with the killarney? those are the whistles i was looking at! if youve found a problem with them then the wild irish whistles are my second favourite!
@joniwilmoth58262 жыл бұрын
I love my Killarney D whistle, but the Killarney B-flat is a bit harder for me to play consistently in the high notes and the A natural sounds flat to me. Sometimes I actually prefer my Generation nickle B-flat whistle. I own eight whistles and my favorite is the Wild Irish C. I've only played whistles for a year now and while I've definitely improved, I'm sure I will continue to learn to do the Killarneys justice.

How do I feel about this lovely, lovely whistle? I’m obsessed! I’m still super noob and have only my first cheap Waltons mellow D, but I’ve been eyeballing the Wilds from the beginning. Beautiful and thanks for demonstrating all of them!

Could you please share the main differences between the A and Bb? I have a generation Bb that I adore, and wanted to upgrade, however the A has peaked my interest as well but cant seem to get a good grasp on what didderentiates them. I'd really appreciate your help as I've already lookt for an answer on all the forums, reviews etc hahahha

I am mystified by other comments from “pros” saying they don’t know why this whistle exists? Just listen here! I have a D and A Wild Irish whistle and I want the whole set! They are wonderful and I already have broad collection including Burke, Overton, Rose, Susato and others!
@brianhughesofficial40872 жыл бұрын
It's a strange one alright, Thomas. I am also mystified. Maybe your inverted commas tell us everything! The Eb Wild is probably the best Eb whistle I've ever played. The rest of them are up there with the best and make a very fine addition to any whistle collection.

This sounds so nice! I have an old plastic Dixon Bb which has nice sound but it has a lot wider bore than this one it looks like and gets loud in the 2nd octave. I might have to consider this one if I'm gonna be needing a Bb whistle more

You're right - a sweet mellow tone

I am now split between the D and B flat for my next whistle. I have a Waltons in D but find the second octave painful so am reluctant to play it as much as I would like. The B flat sounds real nice, maybe I will save to pick one up. Thanks for the reviews.

Have you made a choice already? I also much prefer the Bb tone (and so does my family and cat 😂). I feel like the notion is pushed that you SHOULD play everything in D. However i have a Bb generation and all the irish tunes still sound beautiful and Irish enough in Bb 😂. Love to hear what you got

Will you please let me know if you feel that there is enough of a difference between the B-flat and the A whistles to warrant my purchasing one, when I already own the B-flat Killarney? Thank you.

Hi Joni, personally I prefer to have both keys. I enjoy the subtle difference in tonalities. Thank you for your kind words. I'll be reviewing the A shortly
