btw in 2007 movie, the actor that plays Imanishi (the green masked robber) (Kenichi Endou) would eventually play as Sugiuchi in Yakuza 4

Tbh I'd love to see something like an anime adaptation of the main series, especially if they flesh out certain connecting elements from throughout the series (like Jingu from the first game working with Commissioner Munakata as we find out in Yakuza 4, and Ryuji's involvement in the first game as seen in the stage play, for example). Something like that would be amazing. Hell, just get the studio who did the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime on it. Ryu Ga Gotoku has made a Jojo game before, so it'd make everything come full circle.

The 07 movie while not beign a good adaptation for the story, but it adapts really well elements of the series, like the heat, the gofy stuff and the scenes with the 2 young cuple and the robers felt like substories.

I honestly believe the story of Yakuza 0 has the potential to be an A-list movie, some of the characters were modeled straight after their va's so they can fit right in seamlessly

I think you forgot the Yakuza comics. It had around 5-6 issues and were basically just short recaps of the Yakuza games. It was only a available on the RGG website, and its sadly gone now. The comics were obviously aimed at the western fanbase, due to it being in western comic book format and in english. You can google and see some pages.

I didn’t even know those existed, I’m guessing they came out around the time of Yakuza 6’s western release? I’ve heard that RGG tried to push 6 as a jumping on point for new players in the west, so is that when they released?

I hated the movie at first because of how confused that upload's mistranslation left me lmao. much better recommend watching it on internet archive! ever since I found out it's there I've been planning to rewatch it although I haven't done it yet lol
