Wow... as someone who is very selective about Civil War movies I have to say this is really great. I've seen many other low-budget Civil War movies and short films and thought they were all terrible and cringe-inducing, but this was not at all. This is what a short film should be like. No horrible mock "battle" scenes with a dozen overweight reenactors running around looking ridiculous. Just a few pickets at night in the woods who look the part, and good acting too. And a thought-provoking script and story. Five stars.

Why are independence films better than hollywood films, these days? Oh, thats right. Independent film makers actually cares about movies. This was a good short film. Good job.

An excellent Civil War film. I am a reenactor and the uniforms you use are spot on. I noticed the rifles your using are replica Enfield's, but thats not a big deal. Hundreds of times better than every other farb Civil War video I've seen.

I mean the p53 enfield rifle was used extensively by the the north, in fact in was the second most used weapon of the war next to the 1861 Springfield. Though I did notice minute issues with the enfields themselves.

That is what I was referring too. The replicas just don’t have the same look as real ones not to mention screws where they shouldn’t be. Typically it was more common for the north to use Springfield’s because them being the US Army they had majority US weapons. The CS Army imported almost all of their rifled muskets from England. Enfield rifles from Enfeild England. As the war progressed it was common to see either rifle on either side it was really just a matter of personal preference.

One of the most compelling productions I've seen on youtube. This magnificent scene could have played out in a million battlefields in a million wars since the Bronze Age. Three warriors trying to keep each other alive, when the man to your left and the man to your right are all that matters to you now. We want more please!

What is horrific is that this scene is not the horror of The Wilderness. Something veterans remembered most was the cries of the wounded who could not crawl away from the fires and burning to death. A real scene from Dante's Inferno. I once talked to a 1st Lt from Pork Chop Hill in Korea. The cries for "Momma" are very real. He said dying soldiers always cried for their Momma, never their Father.

Extremely under-appreciated.

Wild theory I had while watching this, the man that was shot was union. It seemed like there were very few amounts of other soldiers with him and he didn't speak with a particularly southern accent.

Excellent short film on the Civil War. Saved it to watch over again :) Just one question: at the end when the camera pans up into the trees... who made the gunshot? Was a Confederate tucked away in the leaves? Did one of the Union soldiers shoot one of his own? Thank you for your time!

This movie is very good. I just wish you could see more but that could be the directors choice to show it this way cause the soldiers can't see any more than we can

Whats crazy is as bad as the Wilderness was, it was just the begining, of the overland campaign, they had Spotsylvania and Cold Harbor next, probably the most brutal time to be an American soldier in history.

The Devil is in the details. - Unfortunately, those details appeared right off the bat. - The story line and acting, though, first rate.
