i actually have a theory/suspicion that shelby might be "someone on the inside" since when they got "rescued" we saw that her hair was still in the pixie cut hairstyle she cut in the woods, but during her interviews her hair is shaved. there would be no way for her to get access to anything for her to shave her own head, unless she was maybe working with them and they gave her some extra "perks". also the fact that they showed her when gretchen said they have someone on the inside was a little suspicious. i hope this isn't a misdirect, because they've tried to trick us on who might be the spy before, but that's just my theory.

I don't think the boys took over the whole show at all, in fact I don't think they did enough with the boys. Overall I thought it was good but my biggest problem with this season is it feels to compressed and not fleshed out enough. I have no idea why they decided to do 8 episodes instead of the 10 they did in season one. Think about it. You introduce 8 new characters to go with your existing characters and you only have 8 episodes, it was always going to be not as good as the first season. I needed more details. As a result I think we didn't get enough of Dot this season. Sophia Ali is fantastic as Fatin and I think we should have gotten more of her. I'm happy with what they did with Leah, I think Sarah Pidgeon's performance in this show is phenomenal. Then there's some stuff that I personally get annoyed with like continuity and logic. Like the sets being different (Especially the facility they are being held in for the interviews) because they filmed in Australia instead of New Zealand for this season. And the fact that the psychologist Daniel Faber supposedly slipped Leah a key card but after that scene that they flash back to of her getting medicated. Yet at the end of season one Leah actually had to get out of the room by sticking something in the door gap so it didn't close properly. Why would she have to do that if she has a key card? Anyway, two cents over.

It’s because the keycard can only unlock and lock the doors from the outside. It let her get into raf’s room but wouldn’t have let her get out of her own after Young locked it.

This finale has me so hyped for what's to come! Literally ranted to myself for like an hour after watching it haha. I'm seriously looking forward to seeing what it's gonna be like now that the girls' group and the boys' group have to work together. Really excited to see a lot of different first interactions between certain characters. Genuinely enjoyed this season, although not as much as the first. But sincerely very excited for the future of it

My theory is that the whole experiment is going to prove Gretchen wrong (It already has). I think that in the end its going to prove that only with men and women working together, will we create the ideal world Gretchen is looking for. From my pov, this season showed that where the boys struggled, the girls excelled, and where the girls struggled, the boys excelled. Together, they may be able to balance each other out. But also that there are bad apples in every bunch, So far we see that as Seth and Gretchen, but we have also been given some pretty sketchy hints that Shelby and Josh are not what they seem.

I also liked this season I think the only ones who didn't liked it were the only ones who stubbornly didn't want to care about the boys story.

Seth and Shelby definitely. Possibly Josh too. Josh and Shelby were both offered the candy choice, like you said. Interviews with the writers have said they planned on it being Shelby all season. Personally I think it was a combination of telling her father everything and hurting Toni in some way. Since she’s in the foster care system possibly making sure she was moved into a horrible home or something.

In season 1 the dudes doing the interactions did say something about how Shelby was the most dangerous, or manipulative or something. We also just learned that her friends death was a year ago, so we still don't know what caused her to go to the island. Where the other girls story's all took place leading up to their trip and how they ended up there. I wouldn't be suprised if Shelby was a secret operative from the start, with Nora and the other girl not knowing about her. There were hints in season 1 that we all tossed away after Nora was revealed.

For me, I think I am OK with the boys and their story. If it had been all boys season or one episode just boys it would have been tiring but I still got my fills of girl side in each episode, so I was OK. I don't know, I think I liked this season just like I liked the first one. I think if I had been less open to the boys and had skipped their side of the story, I would have hated the season because their were less girls. But I'm happy that I decided to be invested and get to know the boys a little bit. I still think the girls are going to still be the protagonists in season 3 but I think we would get really interesting interactions with everyone. I hope there isn't a lot of shipping between all of them. Like I can see maybe a few of then hooking up, like maybe Leah and Raff or maybe Martha with someone, she was the one who had Marcus after all, so I would not mind her finding someone to be with. But I would like them all to be friends but I smell that there are going to be some fights since they're use to do things their own way. Also Shelby is going to be the mole but I don't think she was from the beginning I think they convinced her after her allergy attack. It makes sense, she is happy in the island with Tony and her friends but I can see the guilt destroying her. This could also be a trick, she is the one who has more reasons for wanting to stay.

Good content. Yes, boys dominated on run time but the writers needed to show their back stories and build character development. I anticipated this would happen nevertheless I enjoyed the season with the finale being EPIC. My take, Shelby makes choice to help Gretchen on the inside to stay on island to perhaps win back Toni. The dream sequence hints to making a choice….and as for Fatin/Leah romance, not feeling it. I think It’s queer bait. The one thing, the writers need to address in S3 is clarifying if this retreat is like summer camp. What was the agreement with parents?

it would make sense for it to be Shelby since she doesn’t want to leave the island because of her life at home.
