I have been recognizing the Wilhelm scream in movies since I was a kid. I still remember when I first recognized that I had heard it before. Every time I hear it I still make sure everyone around me knows about it. I must have heard it in 50-100 movies by now. I always wondered why the sound engineers constantly use that same recognizable recording over and over again? It must be some type of easter egg / inside joke that sound engineers are all in on.
