Ah Mr Mayall, a big influence on my Blues listening. I liked The Yardbirds & followed Clapton onto Bluesbreakers Beano album, I used to read the Beano, discovered Robert Johnson due to Clapton singing a couple of Robert’s tunes, then A Hard Road with Peter Green, Crusade with Mick Taylor, Diary of a Band 1 & 2 with Taylor. I was interested in finding out who the original writers were, Sonny Boy, Muddy, The Wolf, Elmore James etc. The albums were hard to find but Melbourne had some import shops as did Sydney, driving up for the day going through every record store, happy daze. Nothing I liked better than a joint, a new album & a guitar player/melody maker or a Rolling Stone magazine.
