Thank you for sharing your garden with us. Not to worry about the kales and stuff, the kales will thaw and still be usable. The plants that look eaten could be birds as well, they love winter green stuff. Your compost piles look great, the garden loves compost. I am gardening all seasons, it keeps us happy.

I feel the same way. I get grouchy when I haven't been able to do some gardening!

I had the same problem with my brassicas. I've covered them with 2 cold covers but they still seem stunted. Live & learn I guess. 🤗👍

First time seeing your channel. I’m in Oregon too. I have trouble cracking the code to get a lush fall/winter garden as well. Cool video!

I'm doing what I call rebel gardening in an apartment complex and I greatly appreciate your videos. I'm going for garlic, lettuce, and onions this winter season. We shall see what we can do.

I went to high school in Eugene and stayed to attend the UofO. Pretty similar climate to here in Portland from what I recall. Glad you are here!

Plastic hoops when you expect a freeze. Should protect most of it from a HARD freeze.

Just found your channel and excited to follow along with a fellow PDXer. May I ask what kind of greenhouse you got and how you find it holds up here? Looking at options but don't want to invest in something that'll be destroyed by our wind storms or snow....

It's a Janssens Greenhouse. I ordered through Costco years ago. Wind blowing it apart isn't an issue. It's very sturdy that way. It doesn't have a real foundation but the vertical support beams on the corners extend down in to the ground a couple of feet. It is glass, so I'm always afraid that a rogue branch falling from the surrounding 60ft cedar and fir trees will be an issue someday.
