Is it ok to connect a marine grade fuse block terminal directly to the negative post (take the fuse out) and connect the shunt where the fuse was? That way it would delete the cable coming off the battery to the shunt. Then a run of cable from the load side of the shunt to the negative bus bar. I figure it's always better to make as few connections as possible.
