Beautiful story. We had a Border Collie that we took to UC Davis many years ago and they saved her life and gave us 6 more years. So grateful for these people and their passion and excellence to treat our fur babies. Thank you to all the veterinarians.

Boy did I cry--ugly cry-- when I saw this. Then I watched both videos here on KZbin. Our beloved 11 yr old Golden just died last year in Sept. from a heart attack. He looked so much like Scout...but just a few weeks before his death we had found out our old Border Collie had Hemangiosarcoma. The primary tumor was his right kidney, but it had spread to his heart, lungs, spleen, pancreas, liver, sternum and even one of his hind legs. We tried 1 dose of chemo, but he didn't tolerate it well at all, so we decided to stop and focus on keeping him comfortable since we'd agreed in the beginning we wanted his quality of life to be our guide. Sadly, just 6 short weeks after losing our Golden, we had to make that dreaded decision no pet parent wants to think about. I was devastated. Scout was lucky to have parents that could afford his treatment from start to finish. I know the diagnostics alone were pretty costly, at least in our case, because of his symptoms. God bless these people, and Scout!!

My golden died of cardiac hemangiosarcoma when he was 7. So glad there’s treatment for the devastating diagnosis now. How wonderful!! Scott is a lucky dog.

My 12 year old black lab died from hemangiosarcoma of the spleen, this type of cancer absolutely sucks. Glad to see they're making some headway for new treatments.

We've lost two of our Goldens to cardiac hemangiosarcoma-one at 12, the other at 9. I'm hoping that one day early detection and treatment for it are commonplace.

@@SnapshotzGoldens Oh no. My heart goes out to you. We lost our Border Collie (approx 11 yrs old) to hemangiosarcoma too, only his primary tumor was in a kidney. It's a terrible cancer!

@@birdieloo6168 Yep. It is one of the absolute worst. I'm sorry for your loss. Border Collies are wonderful dogs.

@@SnapshotzGoldens Thank you. We've had 2 other Borders in the past. Goldens are our favorite breed, but all of our dogs have been just amazing. We also had a Golden at the same time who was approx the same age. We'd only had the Border just under 2 yrs at the time of his death. We have no idea where he came from. I think he was possibly dumped. He was a mess...thin, hair so matted we had to use clippers in some areas (and we found raw areas underneath those tight matts). I'll never know where he came from, but in my heart I know Who led him to us. Judging from his behavior (and appearance), he'd never experienced any kind of brushing/grooming. The vet gave us sedatives to administer whenever we were going to groom him, since he would fight us and try to bite--not hard, just put his teeth on us, enough to say "Stop!." We gave him a bath. He was beautiful! Some months later after his coat had grown back, it was hard to believe he was the same dog...he was stunning I turned him into a "house-dog." About 1 month after coming to us the vet removed a mass from his groin that was hemangiosarcoma, but thankfully, it had been completely encapsulated, so it had not spread. We all thought we had dodged a bullet. Just 6 weeks before losing our dear sweet "Matt," (the Border Collie), we lost our beloved Golden to a heart attack. I felt so bad for you losing your 2---I understand the pain. I wish you well!
