Remake? I think you mean they sampled it. This song contains samples from a few different songs. I think it takes creativity to take samples from different songs and put them together to make a new song. This ain't the first song that has done this and it sure won't be the last. Some of the greatest songs in popular music contain samples or interpolations of other songs.

The main riff is from the Ventures' Wild Child and not only didn't they not invite the Ventures to be in the video, they never even told them about the sample! The result: the V's sued their English asses and took like 2/3 of the royalties. Yeah, the money from this song mostly goes to a group founded in 1958 in Tacoma that still tours Japan.
@gustavomantovani83099 жыл бұрын
+emerpus01 - There's also the little "screaming" guitar intro from Wild Thing / The Ventures. I would never guess they would put out this song without asking for permission since 80 of the song uses the riff from Wild Child. I like the result though!

I'm not seeing the following in the comments. But, the main distorted bass riff/partial drum feel/guitar line was sampled from the Ventures' " Wild Child " riff ( from 1966 ). It was one of the first instances of distorted bass guitar around the time of Frank Zappa's Mother Of Invention and The Beatles ( both groups used the distorted bass effect by turning up the recording channel in the mixer ). But, of course, this version has a ton of great samples and an AMAZING feel. Perfect for the 2000s and beyond. Wind it up baby, indeed!
