Whoever came up with this song was heavily influenced by the pop groups of the 60's and the funk music of the 70's. The blending of the different music styles was flawless as it was superb.

I had a dream about this song one time. So I asked my mom to look it up, and she did. So I asked her to put it on my MP3 player. That seems to be the thing with me. I either have a dream about a certain song that I remember hearing from my past, or somehow someway, the song gets stuck in my head. And then I have to find it!

It’s not genius. It’s pretty much a remake of The Ventures’ “Wild Child.” It doesn’t take genius to do that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2nbi3t6jd6cncU
@benjaminvlz
@benjaminvlz 6 жыл бұрын
Remake? I think you mean they sampled it. This song contains samples from a few different songs. I think it takes creativity to take samples from different songs and put them together to make a new song. This ain't the first song that has done this and it sure won't be the last. Some of the greatest songs in popular music contain samples or interpolations of other songs.

Benjamin Velez When I first heard this I was also getting into the ventures, like ‘98/‘99. And I did not know that the sample was taken from wild child by the v’s. I just knew it was dope. And it MADE that song. (The ventures later sued and got paid)

The main riff is from the Ventures' Wild Child and not only didn't they not invite the Ventures to be in the video, they never even told them about the sample! The result: the V's sued their English asses and took like 2/3 of the royalties. Yeah, the money from this song mostly goes to a group founded in 1958 in Tacoma that still tours Japan.

+emerpus01 - There's also the little "screaming" guitar intro from Wild Thing / The Ventures. I would never guess they would put out this song without asking for permission since 80 of the song uses the riff from Wild Child. I like the result though!

I'm not seeing the following in the comments. But, the main distorted bass riff/partial drum feel/guitar line was sampled from the Ventures' " Wild Child " riff ( from 1966 ). It was one of the first instances of distorted bass guitar around the time of Frank Zappa's Mother Of Invention and The Beatles ( both groups used the distorted bass effect by turning up the recording channel in the mixer ). But, of course, this version has a ton of great samples and an AMAZING feel. Perfect for the 2000s and beyond. Wind it up baby, indeed!

For anyone wondering why people commenting: Womble, paper, and rifle grenade A youtuber by the name SovietWomble used this song as a montage when he used literal pieces of papers and a rifle grenade in a war game, it is epic to watch how accurate he is when he's not aiming

I was wondering what a rifle grenade had to do with a song from when I started high school; our internet was dial up then, you didn't have a good enough ping to play first person shooters online.

It honestly hurts me that the WWE never used this song for a Royal Rumble promo, guess it’s never too late

My mom's coworker friend made a compilation video of my brother's 3-5 year old hilarious antics from home videos for her birthday and he used this song and now that's all I think about when I hear it but I forget that NO ONE else has seen it lol I do remember this song and video tho. Still great 🤣🙌💯
