When I first played The Witcher, it was like magic to me. The character storytelling was excellent and the world was good and after all these years I still come back once a year to play the Witcher again haha

Witcher 1 is a contender for my personal favorite in the trilogy, it's obviously not as good a game as Witcher 3, but it has something special that for some reason really resonates with me. I hope they do a good job on the remake, because it needs one, and not just because of mechanics and graphics, they need to sort out some inconsistent writing and general jank in the storytelling. As a long time fan and player those things doesn't really bother me anymore, but for new players they can be a tough pill to swallow in 2023.

Hey man, cool video. The Witcher 1 is my favorite game from the series so it's nice to see someone who sees that it does some things better than The Witcher 3. I also make videos about The Witcher from time to time and I wanted to ask if you would want to perhaps talk about it together sometimes in a video/podcast or something like that. Let me know if you would be interested 😉

Well CDPR is working on a remake and I can't wait, I love witcher 1, has better atmosphere than any other of the three. I hope they won't modernize it too much and stick to their guts.

Absolutely, I'm super excited for the remake as well! But yeah, it's true, there is a lot of good in the game so if they change it too much a lot of people won't be happy. I fully trust CDPR though, I'm confident they'll get it right and they'll be able to identify the things that they need to keep.

@@ParadoxiaGaming you still trust CDPR after what they did with Cyberpunk? I wouldn't get my hopes up for the remake, they will probably fück it up again.

@@TheDennys21 Keep in mind I have not played Cyberpunk. But, all I have heard about it is that it was a bit disappointing at release, especially because of bugs. Now, people seem to be saying that it is in a good spot. I am still personally really confident in CDPR for The Witcher.

I think you're beginning to understand what I was saying about Witcher 1 being a better witcher game. I love the atmosphere of Witcher 1. The music I always listen to even when I'm just listening to music. Yeah the character designs are old. Definitely some lines are very questionable. I liked that I couldn't find all the characters all the time. You mentioned one character and I'm not going to spoil anything but there's a reason why they are what they are. Watching this video makes me want to play Witcher 1 again. And yes dice poker can get addicting. But I think the AI cheats as well. But that's the topic for another time. Please keep playing and keep making videos.
@ParadoxiaGaming
@ParadoxiaGaming Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the music is amazing! And about what I said about characters not being available all of the time, I honestly don't really care. It's the case as well sometimes in witcher 3. The big difference in Witcher 3 is that your quest tracker is telling you : Go there at midnight, or go there in the morning. It's a minor problem, sure. But I still wish the quest journal would give me a bit more info in general. Also, it does not mean that it would be the best way to do it, it's just my personal preference. And what ?! There is a theory that AI is cheating at dice poker? 🤣 I had no idea!

This is why I'm excited for the remake of Witcher 1. The Witcher 3 is still my favorite but I find the open world, while beautiful, can seriously hinder the main story. W1 doesnt have that problem and has a story that builds satisfyingly.

witcher 1 is amazing , I finished it 6 times it was the first witcher game I played. The music , the atmosphere. I remember I could not kill the ghouls of the crypt because I was afraid (I was kinda young back than) I think its really worth playing on the hardest difficulty.
@ParadoxiaGaming

I can definitely see that happening haha, it can be scary at time. But yeah, I'll definitely need to try harder difficulties in the future!

Great to hear your thoughts and its interesting how Witcher 3 got you into this type of storytelling in video games! For me, it was that i found open world RPGs before 2015 didnt do stories and characters like more focused. RPGs like The Witcher 1 did. W3 was the first that really married the open world to brilliant characters and quests for me.

Yeah... It feels like most people either think that A : the game is great or B : the game is too old, combat sucks and it looks bad. I definitely think that the game is still great despite some minor flaws but hopefully the remake can modernize it a bit (hopefully keep the original feel to it) and get more people to play it.

Witcher 1 experience for the first 5 hours was hard, controls and combat system are very dated. But after some more time that is after I got a silver sword I got hooked in to the point that I wanted to get all endings to see how will they influence playthrough of next 2 games.

I jumped into The Witcher 1 just so i could understand the story of The Witcher 3 better. My intention was just to rush through it and be done, little did i know i was gonna get so into it, i ended up doing 4 playthroughs, i can't wait for the remake. Great content bro.

Thanks a lot! Also, what keeps you coming back to Witcher 1 ? I'm sure there is a lot but is there anything in particular that stands out to you? I can definitely understand though, it's great. You are probably super excited for the remake haha! Have you ever tried reading the books? I am currently reading them and they are fantastic.

I love the Witcher I so much. It's obviously not the best one but it's my favorite. The atmosphere is unrivaled. The remake of this game has so much potential. Looking forward to hearing what you think

I hope they keep this same atmosphere, but update the graphics and maybe the combat system. Those two are the weakest points of witcher I Edit: If there's time, they can also add raunchier scenes for all romanceable characters instead of just black screen, these would be great too

Witcher 1 has the best rpg aspects of combat to me. Yes, its dated and clunky, but it all just makes sense unlike the other two games. I love the potion system, which is pretty much mandatory on hard, but requires only ONE skill point at the start to be used to its full potential. Hell, you don't even need the recipes to make potions, if you already remember the formula in your head. Yeah, there are some overpowered aspects to the system like weapon styles being absolutely crucial in terms of damage, so putting points into better movesets will increase your damage by more than 50% sometimes, while main strength skill path will give you like 5%

I actually agree with everything you said. If you can get passed the clunky and dated combat, there's a lot of good in there. In my case though, I hate the rythm system so much that it leads to me not really being interested to interact with anything related to the combat. I can easily overlook all of that and enjoy the rest of the game though, there are many other aspects of the game that I enjoy A LOT. I'm not saying combat is objectively bad, it's just not MY cup of tea. I'm glad some people enjoy it though!

Hi, Love the video. I was gonna make a longer comment about my personal experience with the game but it kinda got deleted while I was typing it (I accidentally closed the window :D) anyway I love this game and I love to see people play it and get hooked to it. Sure it has its flaws, but doesnt every game?
